Critical Bugs are defined as bugs that need fixing, right now. Seriously. These are bugs that make user plugins utterly useless, breaking them and causing major errors in game.
Major Bugs are defined as bugs in which functionality is broken in such a way that there is no effective solution, or the solution is far from ideal. Also includes bugs which can affect user plugins and cause errors in game.
Medium Bugs are defined as bugs in which functionality is broken, however where there are workarounds available in order to circumvent the issue. Also includes repeatable crashes and issues which require a restart of the CK.
Minor Bugs are defined as bugs which are more of an annoyance than a hindrance. These include bugs which are easily fixable and don't negatively affect user plugins.
Engine Bugs are defined as bugs which are on the game-side, but which also affect user-made mods.

Bugs highlighted yellow are issues which have been acknowledged by Bethesda, however which a fix has not been confirmed.
Bugs highlighted orange are issues which have been acknowledged by Bethesda, and have also confirmed to have a fix in the works.
Bugs highlighted green with a strikethrough are issues which have been fixed by Bethesda in a patch.
Bugs highlighted violet with a strikethrough are issues which have not been fixed by Bethesda, however where an unofficial user made fix is available that solves the issue.
Bugs highlighted red are issues which have been acknowledged by Bethesda, however where it has been confirmed that the issue won't be fixed in the foreseeable future.

There are numerous bug topics all over the Creation Kit forum, and these get lost so quickly amongst all the general questions and advice topics. Like the Unofficial Skyrim Bugs topic, my aim is to have a centralised topic where we can list the bugs in order for the devs to see, and hopefully fix. When posting a bug, categorise it into one of four levels: Critical Priority, Major Priority, Medium Priority and Minor Priority. This will make it easy to differentiate between a mod-breaking bug, and one where it's only a minor issue. If the issue is linked, it means there's a topic or post that explains the bug in more detail.

Critical Bugs
  • Patch 1.6 has introduced a critical bug relating to dialogue. Attempting to modify vanilla dialogue in any way will result in it becoming completely broken, with the audio and lip sync failing to work. It also causes any attached result script to fail to function. This is a very serious issue which affects almost all CK users.

  • Moving or rotating any marker (x marker, coc marker, roombounds etc) that's been added in the current plugin (i.e. doesn't have a mod index of 00) doesn't cause the Creation Kit to mark the plugin as changed (* tag). Therefore it seems as if it's saved when in reality your changes will be lost on exit. The CK doesn't even notify you if the plugin should be saved, it just closes without any prompts, causing you to lose any changes made.

I'd prefer to just strike them out and leave it at that. That way we can keep track of which bugs have been fixed and which haven't.

Duplicating cells causes linked roombounds to become unlinked, I guess thats reaaaally minor.... it also seems like some parented objects were unlinked too, but this was really sporadic for me so may not be worth mentioning unless others find it causes them issues.

The new NPCs still have a face bug and the shadows, make-up and scars and tattoos are a no-show in-game, even though they appear in the Creation Kit.

Statics in random exterior cells become invisible in the CK, but still selectable. The worldspace needs to be re-loaded in order for them to appear again.

Tip : The render window doesn't need to be refreshed. If the static is selected, then hitting the number 1 three times will make it appear.
If it's not selected, left click and drag a box around the whole of the surrounding area to select everything in the vicinity, then hit number 1 three times and all selected statics will show again

On a side note, I have received a reply from Gstaff about the interior to exterior memory issue with the engine. Fingers crossed it gets fixed soon, everyone.

But I'm afraid I have some bad news, let me try to put conditions:

-OUR interior cell that has the problem connecting to OUR exterior world space
-REMOVE enough statics to NOT cause the bug
-When the player dies by melee nothing wrong appears to happen
-When the player dies by shock, for example lightning storm you get the blue screen (seems it only occurs with spells that attach ash pile at death)

Do you think it's necessary to make a video so you show to him?

Either I read over it, or it wasn't mentioned yet. A recent silent update to the Creation Kit breaks any new armour you create, and any existing armour you edit. The values are read by the Creation Kit, but not by Skyrim or any other editing tool, resulting in any new and edited armour to have a rating of 0 and being impossible to equip.

I wish to bring this up again as I received no response to it:

The CK often crashes randomly, usually without reason (for example, while being idle or testing mods ingame).

This is a very vague bug report. The same can be said about any programs, that they will occasionally crash randomly. Also, I have never been able to recreate this bug, out of all the times I had both the game and the CK open, neither of them crashed or caused each other to hitch up in any way. So I would conjecture that for people who do have the CK crash when they leave it open while testing in game, it is because of their hardware. I have a very powerful PC with plenty of memory to go around (8Gb) and I believe that plays a large part as to why I have never experienced this crash.

Because of that, I do not believe this is a bug at all. Rather the CK crashes because the user's computer ran out of memory and Skyrim got the priority allocation because it was the currently active program, thus the CK got dumped and crashed. That is not a bug at all, that is a hardware issue.

So I do not believe this one deserves a spot on the list. Random crashes are an unhelpful bug report, and the only possible cause it defines does not affect all users, which means it is not caused by the program itself.

This is a very vague bug report. The same can be said about any programs, that they will occasionally crash randomly. Also, I have never been able to recreate this bug, out of all the times I had both the game and the CK open, neither of them crashed or caused each other to hitch up in any way. Not sure if it's a bug, because I can't recall if the player can be disintegrated, I don't recall if that ever happened to me, I'm debugging, if see it's consistent I will make a video.

From what I've read, it seems that you are trying to disintegrate the player when he dies by disabling him and attaching an ash pile much like the Disintegrate perk. Therein lies the problem.

I'm afraid the player was simply never meant to be disabled (there's a reason only the player can obtain the Disintegrate perk). When the player dies, the script will attempt to disable the player, but as this is not allowed, the game will simply crash (or in your case, cause a blue screen).

Yes I think that's the problem, that's what my debugging is saying to me yes. Any time I see a blue screen I get the creeps because of the bug, glad it's not another one.

Better this way! ^^

Heads up for everybody: don't try to disintegrate the player

Have you ever experienced the interior to exterior crash with a vanilla worldspace? I seem to recall not long ago that you mentioned that it only occurs with custom worldspaces. Is that true?

Yes, it only occurs to OUR worldspace, if you coc to riverwood for example it's all good.

So user-made interiors connected to vanilla worldspaces are safe from the bug? That's something, at least.

I will update the entry about the bug to reflect that detail.

I think so, at least I never had a problem. It's only between OUR interior and OUR exterior, and the interior has to have a certain number of statics or megabytes or whatever.
