The Nicest Forums I've Ever Used.

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 6:02 am

I've got to hand it to the mods and admins here, this is the nicest forum I've ever used. And I've used ALOT of forums. I haven't seen any trolls, or blatant disrespectful people anywhere. It's just civilized game discussion/debate and respectfulness. It's a nice break from the what seems to be the 'norm' for online forums especially gaming ones. Just thought I'd recognize the great job that seems to be being done here. and Thanks for such a civil place to discuss the best game ever, to date.

that's fine if its locked, I just figured it'd be nice to let the mods/admins know their work is not unappreciated or unnoticed.

yes this is one of the nicer forums you'll ever visit, I think the Tirade of Butthatery has past, you don't see most folks anymore and generally you can go about again without getting hit by a Sidewinder Missile so its all good.

well, Ive been here about 3 months or so now, and Ive seen no deliberate trolling, no name calling for the sake of name calling, and no obscene attacks on people for their opinion of the game. I've only come across civil debate, and respectful chatting.

Im not saying that Trolls don't exist here, and everything is perfect, Just saying, out of the 20 or 30 forums Ive used (and ran) over the years, this is the most civil one I've come across.

I agree. Here most people actually try to stay in topic and argue instead of plain trolling (But even then, we have a considerable amount of occasional trolls).

Here you are more likely to see see a debate instead of a "Your avatar is silly, you just lost all your credibility!" post. :P

Paradox forums are better. If you aren't polite the community doesn't help you. If The community doesn't help you, you will NEVER figure out how to play any paradox game.

"Don't judge a cow by the paint on it." says the giant "judge it by it's meat."

Heh, The T1p, you'll see that a lot of the forums is filled with vicious sharks just waiting for some bait to drop or some blood to spill.
But saying that, comparing this forum to Bioware Social- where there is horrible moderators, strumped up developers and a totally divided fanbase,
this would appear a heaven for people just looking for some common sense and a good humble discussion without prejudice or arrogant hatred.

Seems more of a obligation to be polite. :P

And agreed, even today I don't know how to properly play Victoria.

My Thoughts exactly. I'm sure there are trolls/sharks just waiting, but you can NEVER eliminate them all, this palce seems to do a much better job then a majority of other forums Ive used. (EA, 2k, and other fan made forums as well)

I tried using Steam forums and noticed a) no one uses complete words, B) no one respected other members c) lots of complaining. While people here may not respect the others, at least they're polite and keep it to themselves :)

It would be kind of ironic if this thread got locked... but yes, this is one of the more intelligent "nice" forums out there.

I have to agree. I've been on forums since 1987 (anyone remember GEnie?) Mods are essential to a properly run forum.

To be honest, these are the best run forums I have ever seen.
