The old forum

A little sad to see the old forum go away, but glad that Bethesda is keeping it alive here.

Yeah, and it's good to see that members like yourself and Ray are following over here. :)

It'll probably get better exposure here. Glad to have everyone from the old board here.

Huh, really. Didn't know this game had a board. The game was pretty cool though.

Yeah, was at "www.callofcthulhu.com" under the "forums" link (but that brings us here now)

Pretty cool that because I used the same e-mail and account name over there as here, all the posts I made there were linked to the account here. :)

Hopefully, now that this is getting better exposure, someone will be able to figure out the graphical issues (e.g. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b120/iamerik/CoCbug.jpg) the game has with modern PCs at some point! :brokencomputer:

I may have followed over but despite using the same email, my forum stats and postcount have not followed over (I couldn't use the name "Ray" as it was taken).

The developers of the game used to hang around the boards before it was moved.

Sonofamortician might still browse the new boards but I don't know if he has registered here or not yet. He did lots of special effects, weapon development , textures etc for the game. The rest of the developers have moved on. Sonofamortician has provided me in the past, with a very detailed history on the game and he seems to know a lot more about it than just what he worked on =)

I would hope this game had a board. It was only one of the best ever made. Speaking of which, my friend is still borrowing my copy. I must get it back!

It has been around since the game came out years ago.
I will miss the stupid thread.

Is there any way to get back the old posts? There had been a few I would like to have kept a record of, particularly those in the "Cthulhu Mythos" section, that have not carried across at all :(

Looks like you'll have to look at them on the Internet Archive mate =( or note Gstaff and ask if any of them would've carried across.

I'm afraid everything that carried over is all that's left.

I had tried the Internet Archive, but there's a block on the /forum section :(

You make it sound like there was some kind of crazy, cosmic disaster that happened over there.

I did take the time to screenshot the original boards last day.

I also copied down a TONNE of content into notepad and saved it, mostly the enormous long informative posts by Niel Venter (Sonofamortician) about the game and it's development history. I did also jot down many other threads. I will search for them when I get home.

I liked the old one much much more. This forum has just 4 sections, and transfering a community from one forum to another just doesn't work.
