The One Ring

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 4:39 pm

One item I came up with while just being bored thinking about LOTRO and other games, I came up with the idea for a regular golden ring called "The One Ring" that had a 30% Chameleon enchantment on it.

I was just wondering if anyone else ever came up with anything else like this, cleverly-named items with appropriate enchantments.

not sure if this is the proper place to put this, but it seemed most relative :P

I've always wanted Gauntlets of Rotten Flesh with Cause Decease for my fist fighter. That would just be mean.

Enchanting a short or longsword with shock damage then calling it Luke's Saber or, Lightsaber would be funny.... Considering the apparent technological gap between cyrodil and that far away galaxy, a really long time ago... :P

I would probably (if it was possible, of course) have added a weakness to magic enchanment to the one ring, to represent Sauron's ability to see and sense the ring-wearer! That would be juicy.

Lol along the star wars line i could see using a transcendant sigil stone +50 magicka on a robe and calling it, "The Force"

My character talked Cassius Vinitper (one of the nice battlemages at the Arcane University) into giving her one of his zero weight blue hoods. Buffy enchanted it with a mild frost damage enchantment. Her purpose was to have a place to carry venison and crab meat so it would keep longer when she traveled. Of course, there's also that other use. . . . :whistling:

She also enchanted Superian's saddle pad with resist frost, so the mare is more comfortable when they travel to Bruma or Skyrim.

I have a modded weapon that I renamed The Force because it has a Push Away 25ft enchantment on it... I just wish I had a text at the top of the screen saying "The Force is strong with you" whenever the sword successfully pushes someone away.

A Telekinesis spell named The Force?

I made this but don't actually use it because its not that good but...
Daedric Warhammer with silence enchantment named Shut the [censored] Up!
A spell with fortify hand to hand and strength: Falcon Punch!!!! (I actually do use this one)
Also the very first custom enchanted item I ever ever ever made was the same one you described "The One Ring" but it was way weaker since I made it at a low level

I love these!

I sort of went the same way. Mine is a club laced with a hefty Demoralize enchantment. I call it 'The Mother-In-Law'.

What I name weapons depends on many factors: Am I going to keep it, sell it for septims, give it to a companion, am I in a goofy modd, etc. For instance, I might use a sigil stone that I don't want to keep to enchant a mace. If the sigil stone's enchantment is Frost, I might call the mace Cold Shoulder. If it's Fire Damage, I might call it Hot Stuff or Flamer. I come up with more serious names for weapons I intend to keep.

Elberond (male Bosmer Recon Sniper) carries three enchanted weapons at all times:
His primary weapon is An Ayleid Meteoric Iron bow called Taul'Mar'El (part of a mod I'm working on). It's named after Taulmauril from the Drizzt Do'Urden stories set in the Forgotten Reals universe because, like Taulmaril, it never runs out of ammo.
His secondary weapon is an Ayleid Meteoric Iron shortsword, called Stormwrath, that does Shock damage 30 points for 5 seconds on strike + weakness to shock 100% for 5 seconds on strike. I just thought Stormwrath sounded good for that.
His tertiary weapon is a heavily enchanted dagger called Reaper. The enchantment on Reaper is so strong, it requires a Grand Soul to recharge it after a single use. Reaper is used only as a last resort. It's enchanted with Fire,Frost & Shock damage 50 pts for 3 seconds, Damage Health 50 pts for 3 seconds, Drain Speed 100 pts for 1 second, & Soul Trap for 3 seconds for a total enchantment cost of 1588. I used http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33279 to make the enchantment. I called it Reaper because very few enemies can withstand a single strike from it and it takes their souls. So far, he's only had to use it once.

Drehdwyn (female Bosmer Assassin) also carries three enchanted weapons at all times:
Her primary weapon is the Acadian Bow, a bow (what type depends on character lever) enchanted with Drain Speed 100 points for 1 second + Shock Damage (different magnitudes at different character levels) + Soul Trap. It's named after member Acadian, who came up with the enchantment for Buffy's bow(s).
Her secondary weapon is Doomstrike, an Ayleid Meteoric Iron shortsword enchanted with Fire, Frost & Shock damage 10 points on strike + weakness to Fire, Frost & Shock 100% for 3 seconds.
Her tertiary weapon is an Ayleid Meteoric Iron dagger called Haelia Naga, which is Ayleid for 'Terrible Death'. It's enchantment is the same as Elberond's Reaper. Given the meaning, Haelia Naga seemed an appropriate name. She uses it for up close assassinations, but only if she has an empty Black Soul Gem with her.

I don't break lore and I don't get satirical with naming items. I'm not naming items lame names like you would find in Fable. I'll even give expansive, deep names to bound items.

I put a feather enchantment on a pair of Daedric Boots, and I named them Big Ass Boots of Feather. Then I enchanted a pair of geaves with feather, and called them Glass For My Ass. I named my glass claymore that I enchanted with soul trap Soul Calibur. I named a fire enchanted club Disco Stick just for the hell of it.

Must be a mod. In vanilla you cannot enchant with restore health, either at the enchanting altars or via sigil stone. T'would be a nice thing for crafting training weapons if it were only possible.
