The one thing that i'd like for the consoles

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 10:35 pm

Now i could have said ps3, but i'm nice and said consoles, an hd upgrade at some point. The game already looks fantastic, but after watching videos and my friends play it on pc... it does not look that good on consoles.

How would you implement it
Well if they plan on putting in the upgraded water and the seasonal plants then they could put it in with that? does that sound good to every one? lol

What do you guys think? Cp guys can stay out because you guys have mods that we can't have.

I would like this as well, but apparently our consoles will blow up if anything is added...

The common theory is that consoles could not support such an update. I'm pretty sure that's the case, since there is no reason for Bethesda to keep the good stuff PC exclusive.

Its a system memory thing. Consoles only have 512MB of system memory, which cant be upgraded. This severely limits what consoles can display on screen because all that data has to be put into memory. The average PC has 4GB of system memory. That is why PCs get the higher quality.

I guess they could. I would not bother with it thou. The game looks good enough. What we do need, is basic modding tools.

That's never going to happen either. Sony and Microsoft explicitly disallow user-created content on their consoles.

fixed the amount of RAM used.

Not really. A 4GB RAM computer can run Skyrim easily provided there's an adequate video card.

The only thing that needs to get an upgrade is the ebony bow. [censored] it looks a ugly compared to the screenshot in one of the loading screens. (The ebony bow that you get from Karliah does look nice)

Not really. a fully tweaked out Skyrim pushes almost 6gb of ram used. i have seen proof of this.
same with vram. which is equally important. 1.5gb vram for instance is not enough for the newer games at their full power.

And as for loading times. provided your cpu and other things are good for instance the I7 2600k, you should not really see any studdering ( assuming it's overclocked, which is east to reach 5ghz if you have a good chip )

Yeah we could have updated graphics, but that'd mean running into a loading screen in the middle of the wilderness just to render what is in front of you. (and those would be quite long loading screens too)

Well....since mods are out of the question, I would ike a simple toggle to remove the compass.
I know I can fade out the entire HUD, but I want to keep the crosshair, eye, and health bars. I just want to dump the compass.

This comes up in EVERY TES game and I just can't understand why they don't make a toggle for it.
