Am i the only one who missed the 'Stop right there criminal

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 6:41 am

Somehow, whenever i get arrested, the guards dont seem harsh enough. Maybe its why i always escape rather than go to jail.

Anyone missed oblivion's 'stop right there criminal scum' line? i think its much better than 'you have committed crimes against skyrim blahblahblah'.

because:

Scene 1:
Me : Steals apples, got caught
Guard: *screams* Stop right there criminal scum!
Me : Oh shet, okok i will bow to you just take me dont hurt me

Scene 2:

Me: Steals apples, got caught
Guard: *speaks softly* you have commited crimes against skyrim and her...
Me: runs away

The guards' charisma is regressing. The Ordinators>all.

They could be more harsh, but you have to admit there are much bigger things to worry about in Skyrim than throwing some nut in jail. Still, they could appear to sound a bit more intimidating, but again the entire dialogue in this game could use some tweaking.

If a cop in real life told me, "Stop right there criminal scum!" I would bust out laughing in sheer amusemant rather than terror.

The Ordinatiors in Morrowind is how it should be for a number of reasons:

1. They looked cool.
2. You couldn't see their faces, so they were also mysterious. In OB you got to see their stupid facial expressions which were also funny.
3. They were pretty mean. They demanded respect and if I didn't respect them, they'd give me the impression they'd kill me, which might be a lot worse than going to jail. In fact, I was afraid they'd consider it a crime if I even as much glimpsed at them.

No no no, we have to go even further back for the really good stuff...

"Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt! Halt!...."

I honestly didn't like the stop right there criminal skum as a thing guards say to someone who stole a feather worth 1 gold. It's pretty over-dramatic imo.

I'm surprised I haven't seen a mod that changes all the Skyrim guards to go "Halt Halt Halt .... Halt Halt HaHalt Halt"

Overall, the guards seem pretty relaxed most of the time, and when you first come to Riften, they seem more like thugs in uniform than those gentlemen that kept the Imperial City safe. Also other Cyrodiil cities seemed to have a pretty professional and helpful watch, but woe betide you if you steal an apple (or fork).

I too miss ''stop right there criminal scum!'', I miss the VA who performed the Imperial voices too.

When I heard they were incresing the number of voice actors to 70 I thought that meant that we'd get the cast from OB/MW but add new ones for Skyrim, instead we have mostly new. I imagined, for example, that 2 out of 10 Imperials would be the OB voice and the other 8 would be new ones but no.
I really miss the Imperial and Redguard VA's from OB.
