The Patch making things worst.

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 5:59 am

I only thing I have noticed since the patch is that is has made things worst. The game is freezing up a lot more than it use to and the load times are really, really long now. And yes I installed to hdd day one. How do you make a patch that makes things worst.

I have had the exact same thing occur with the 360 version. After the patch today...it runs much worse than before. What are those developers thinking;except, apparently only about the almighty dollar sign.

Well considering they made a patch in 3 days I didnt really expect it to be to much. I didn't even think they were going to make one that soon. It has made things a little worse. But its only week one you can't expect too much

The newest patch has done the following..

Before I had no bug/glitches/freezes.
Now after installing the patch I get around 30s - 1m of game time before the game freezes on me.
If I try to talk to an NPC it freezes as soon as I hit 'E'.
If I try to open my companion menu, it freezes.
If I open my inventory it freezes.

Heck, I've had it freeze on the load up.

Horrible game breaking patch.

What the hell happened to testing your patches BEFORE releasing it?

What can I do to revert FO: NV to its initial version?

You might expect a patch to not do much but you don't expect it to make things worst. If the game is this broken now imagaine what a DLC is going to do to the scripting.

That makes no sense to me.
How in the world would they get paid 'mighty dollars' for a free patch; and why do it at all, (for folks whose money they already have) if that was their intent?

This stuff is complex, and any side effect or additional "bug" exposed or caused by their attempt to fix things is purely unintentional.

Also, (though I'd expect them to have an iron skin when it comes to this) comments of this sort only serve to damage moral if anything ~and that doesn't help any of us or them.

But comments like these also serve to vent frustration
And frustration is all we have at the moment... Regardless if it was a "free" patch or not, it seems Fallout NV was an unfished product from the start, so rather then counting their dollars now, they ve allready done so.
The patch seems more like a bit of kindness from the developers part, but gone terribly wrong.

I don't have any problems. Vegas is not unfinished, or unpolished.

One can vent without accusations or insult.

That doesn't make it unpolished, it just means you've been lucky or specialized... I haven't run into any serious bugs either, so I could say the same, but there are too many that report them; and I have not played the game for more than an hour, nor left Greensprings; nor talked to anyone but the Doc. From my personal experience its near flawless :celebration:
~but it isn't
