There should have been a quest to go into the plane and get some unique weapon.

I wonder if there's any kind of backstory, like it's a military plane, and that's where Joshua get's all of those weapons or something.

Just a frail comparison to LORD of the Flies. The "school" children escaped, but the plane hit the mountain. The pilots died .Skeletons at bottom of wreckage. The children discovered "father" who taught the"sorrows" of man. They grew up to be the Sorrows tribe. Then maybe the other two tribes are fragments.Just as the faught of power in the book (movie)......just a thought:)

The Browning m1911 was named the state gun of Utah a couple months ago (I think we're the first state to have a state gun?). Lots of people here have them. They're made in Ogden. I'd imagine there's probably a warehouse full of them somewhere between Ogden and Zion Nat'l Park they raided for supplies.

I spent probably ten minutes trying to find a way up to that plane :\

I discerned that plane at the very start - hoping that I'd be able to search in or around it. Nope, only under it. Nothing but random consumables and skeletons.

Off-topic, if it wasn't a military plane, then how'd all the tribes acquire their armaments? They mentioned an armory in Spanish Forks. It couldn't have contained more guns than Vault 34, or NAFB. Even the National Guard Armory back in F3 didn't contain such high-power firearms in such large quantities. They make Spanish Forks sound like the El Dorado of firepower - a place Boomers fantasize about. What gives?

That's the difference between locations you can loot and locations you can't. The ones you only hear about always have way more armament. And being an Air Force Base Nellis wouldn't have as many small guns as any armory connected to the Army.

That is really a disappointment. That is the first thing I spotted at the beginning of Zion. Worked my way there thinking finally I could have my house up on a cliff, in a downed bomber. No dice. :(

I read somewhere that by jumping in the right places, you could actually make it up there. They also stated that there was nothing up there at all.

I used no clip and air walked to it, its the same Transport Plane you see in Camp McCarran, except its damaged. I suspect its the same model used on the "Crashed airliner" location near Nipton.

Nah, that one doesn't fit the profile. The one by the airfield in the Mojave (just after you leave GoodSprings) fits the Captain Walker airplane.

No, I think he means the crashed plane south of Good Springs, in the salt flats (?) sort of east of the abandoned gas station and south of the raceway.

The Planes of Fallout NV

The Bomber in the lake is patterned after the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_B-29_Superfortress

The other planes, including this one in Zion Nat'l Park are patterned after the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_DC-3 civilian airliner which became the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_C-47_Skytrain transport planes of WWII
