The Radio Serial : Fallout: New Vegas

Something I really enjoyed in Fallout 3 was the inclusion of the radio serials and it made me wonder what others thought of them. Obviously its too late to add anything to New Vegas but would anybody else enjoy seeing more of the radio serials, perhaps expanding on what was put in Fallout 3. I was thinking we could get some comedies, maybe like a "Fibber McGee and Molly-esque" show, or even a stand up comedian. An Eddie Cantor Vaudevillian shtick perhaps? A Zorro type character or maybe even a swashbuckling tale? What are your guys thoughts? Would you like to see a return of the radio serial in NV, DLC, or even future Fallout projects?

Yes, like the old Little Orphan Annie show in real life, or the type of stuff on The Prairie Home Companion. Im a bit of a history buff and can tell you its very period authentic.

if they put abbot and castello in fallout new vegas that would be amazing running around the wasteland to them talking about whos on first base whats on third and i forget the rest but it would still be hilarious

Would be nice if they could get the rights to some real ones... As to do that, well the Shadow knows... Some Buck Rodgers, etc.

I would actually prefer fictional radio shows, let the writing team run wild.

If they're fun.

But mostly I'd like a talk-show with some people interacting with each other rather than some guy screaming off the top of his voice. (Three dogs)
Couldn't listen to Daring Dashwood? I knew that if I turned on GNR that there was a chance that thee dogs would be yelling.
And I hate three dogs.

Be cool to hear some old captain......you know that Buck Rodgers type chatracter in FO3 posters with the monkey. Be cool to hear some old prewar commercials and such on a long dead signal.

They've compared F:NV to GTA:VC many times now. If they can make the radiostations even half as good as VC (with appropriate themes, of course), I applaud.

I did enjoy Daring Dashwood, it was a nice chance of pace to hear it every once in a while. I rarely listened to the radio on my pipboy so if I ever walked by a radio and it was playing Daring Dashwood it would make me stop whatever I was doing and listen to it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Obsidian already implemented something like this, though. I hope...

I would like to hear more about 3 dog. Maybe making a small connection to the lone wanderer, maybe just saying what he's been up to. Not connecting directly to New Vegas, just kind of a "by the way" kind of thing. Even though 3 dog is only supposed to broadcast to DC........

Thats what Im thinking, nothing too serious just some obvious tongue and cheek homages to popular 30s and 40s radio shows.

I really did like serials in Fallout 3, I'd also like to see these expanded upon in New Vegas and Fallout 4.

They probably couldn't get rights, though. It'd have to be Bucky Banzaistein or something.

Buckaroo Banzai is more like a Neo Noir homage to 30s, 40s and 50s B movie Sci Fi, like Buck Rodgers and Flash Gordon. Although a bit nod to BB wouldnt be totally period breaking.

While that movie was terrible, it was a pretty authentic look at B movie camp. I dont know if anybody has a channel on their Tv called THIS but its a Fox affiliate channel that shows a bunch of old B and C movies. its pretty terrible... in a good way.

Oh, I was talking about the TV series in the '80s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buck_Rogers_in_the_25th_Century_%28TV_series%29) starring Gil Gerard. It was mostly bad in a bad way with some occasional, "hey, look at that...did they really just- er...haha..." moments. It was fun to see what the '80s thought a 25th century dance club would be like, though...and that they thought they would be everywhere.

Be cool if there was a wasteland lottery, you get a number and you hear it over the radio to see if you one. Oh the other thing is you must get there in at least 3 days to reclaim the winnings, sort of a sick joke for those who actually win and are in some far away town here they never get a chance to collect.

Easy way to make some small change off the poor saps who think they can win it big.
