how performance-intensive is that? I have a 580M and the latest beta drivers.

If you have 1GB of dedicated VRAM on for your graphics then you'll be fine.

For me everything looks a lot less blurry and more detailed. I've never had any fps loss or frame stuttering ever.

And yeah it's normal.

It seems that almost all ingame textures are replaced by the DLC, so it will likely be a large file.

I'm just a bit peaved that I cannot play the game or use creation kit while the DL is running. The DLC seems to be written directly over game - rather than DL first then write the content to the required files / folders - either way it works, game and (by default) creation kit are unusable.

Also, steam has reported that the game will be ready to play in about 5 hours*. Maybe I should have waited till ther DL rush was over or maybe steam should have found a way to ensure the DL would be faster.

To be truthful, I'm not too bothered. The DL will be done when it is done and I have Stargate Atlantis BLUrays to catch up on - lol.

*Before the obvious is pointed out to me, I'll point it out; DL slow due to DL release day rush, just about everyone is 'in the same boat', no my ADSL connection is not any worse than normal and yes I can wait. :)

Are there any comparison screenshots cus honestly, I couldnt see any difference aside from a massive performance hit.

Problem with most screenshots is Steam creates compressed JPG's, I think Fraps does to, but just not as compressed. Screens are good for before and afters, but I don't think you get the full experience unless you see it on the game. There is a thread in General that has some screen shots in it.

As long as you have enough VRAM, there should be practically no performance hit.

LOLness!

I'm in the uk and was not able to jump on the DL wagon when the DL first became available. Though I must say - the creation kit DL was very very fast and had no problems that I can so far see.

It is 22:40 here - so, once I've checked a few things, I'll be leaving Steam to its merry little self, switching my monitors off and watching a couple of episodes of SGA via my projector.

Tommorrow I have 3DS Max to DL - so that'll take some time. Maybe I'll start with the CK then.

As for 'how performance-intensive is that?' I would recomend following the Steam advice to make sure your system requirements exceed the minimum recomended specifications of Skyrim before attempting install. That's all folks!

Hey guys, I have a AMD Radeon HD 6630M 1GB. I play on high settings on 768p resolution pretty steady (usually around mid 30s FPS). Just wondering if you all think my PC can handle the upgrade. BTW, I have all of the other recommended system requirements needed per steam.

My GPU is 1 GiB and I noticed no frame rate drop at all with the pack at 2560x1440 (1440p). You should be fine.

your cpu is surely better than mine, though, mine can't go beyond 1080p within game settings.

Far more likely that your monitor doesn't go any higher than that. Besides, CPU speed has very little to do with textures.

Which is why I use lossless PNG option in Fraps :)

As far as the GPU is concerned, only the VRAM and the texel fillrate really matter for textures, and the texel fillrate is practically never the bottleneck these days.

Also Bethesda recommend you exceed the recommended specifications so if you only meet the recommended specifications then you are not meeting the recommended requirements of this texture mod.
