I have the stray dog as my follower and am a member of the companions. However, when I do the Silver Hand quest (the one where you become a werewolf), my dog disappears. I've tried telling him to wait outside and can't tell him to wait inside a building because there is a bug that causes him to disappear when i leave. Does anyone know/have an idea about how i could get around this bug?

For me, the stray dog always wanders off eventually. I don't think he's supposed to be a permanant follower.

Maybe, but i've had him for about the last 10 hours (out of 15), so i want to keep him for the rest of the playthrough. If there's no way around it i guess i'll have to wait for a patch to fix it before i can continue with the companions

Go get Meeko instead. Then send him home before you embark on weredom. That way you KNOW where his home is - unlike the Stray Dogs where you have no clue.

Can't do that, because if stray dog disappears or i send him home, the game still thinks i have him so i can't get another one. Also i want to keep him
