The SkoomaMoon Sugar Fiend

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 2:54 am

So ... my orc is trotting down the road on her horse to that one quest involving the Redguards and a certain tavern maid ... when she meets up with another orc. Naturally, I think, Jump off, talk to him, see if he has anything interesting to say. Out of nowhere, this guy starts wailing on her with his fists. Pretty weird, but sometimes the AI in this game does some pretty weird stuff.
Whatevs. He's an easy dispatch. Great. More rag clothing or something ...
BUT NO
He has Sleeping Tree Sap, 8 Skooma, 6 Moon Sugar, Hawk Feathers (I didn't even know this was a spell ingredient!) and 150 gold.
My level 6 character is dumbstruck.
WTF.

There are druggies around here and there. I met mine on a snowy road near a gate to nowhere. Regarding hawks, you can actually shoot them out of the air.

I found an High Elf and another time an Argonian trying to move contraband out on the road. If you say the wrong thing, violence begins.

Had no idea about either of these things.

:tes:

Bethesda has packed so many little things into the game. It really adds to the experience.

To find the place I mentioned, go to Black Briar Lodge and run southeast about a mile. It is kind of spooky.

It is one of the random encounters you come across from NOT fast traveling.

Speaking of Skooma and Moon Sugar, are they any crazy looking drug addicts in the game? The drug dealers look normal. I still remember this one quest in Oblivion with that Skooma addict. He used to always make me laugh 'cause it looked like he was buggin' out. Eyes wide open, talkin' hella crazy. Real jittery. Like a crackhead from our dimension.

So... anyone like that in Skyrim?

Oh, haven't you heard? All those awesome little things are actually just filler! Or, at least, that's what some users on this forum would have you believe :P

Hawk beaks could be the rarest ingredient in the game

Yeah there are lots of cool things you can find. I've run into several thieves and drug dealers, and I've sent the Old Orc to an honorable death, except the time I saw him from a distance and paralyzed him with a poisoned arrow. Just so happens he was trying to dispatch some wolves while it happened. They got free eats.

Also has anyone else seen the

Really got ticked that he wouldn't buy the skooma I was carrying. Dropped it by his feet, idiot didn't even pick it up.

They generally initiate conversation with you, and you can choose to intimidate them into giving you the goods, leave, buy the stuff, or suggest that it isn't legal. The first one initiates combat if you fail, and the last one will initiate combat.

I've had an Argonian tell me that I looked to serious and should relax and he has what I need... Skooma :|... killed him and looted the Skooma for free and sold it off XD.

Hawk Feathers (I didn't even know this was a spell ingredient!)

You mean an Alchemy Ingredient and yes it is, I found that out when I tested to see if you can hit the birds in the air with spells... it's hard but the answer was a surprising yes XD.

Eish guy ... that's just ... poor druggie!

I found an High Elf and another time an Argonian trying to move contraband out on the road. If you say the wrong thing, violence begins.
Haven't run into these in what must be 50-75 hours of gameplay ...

Also has anyone else seen the

Headless Horseman?
Yes! He's cool ... None of my characters are the type to attack random, peaceful, if slightly creepy, stuff, so I'm still wondering what loot it has on it ...

i actually had a similar experience but it was a wood elf.
wierd but glad to find the moon sugar though!
The skooma and moon sugar's displayed on my shelves in Breezehome. I have a feeling my orc may be addicted ...

I forgot to mention ... right before the events described in the first post, I overheard one of the trader khajiit mention she was jonesing for a fix.
