It's what the title says I found the Stray Dog somewhere north of Rift Imperial Camp near to a shack (don't recall the name) and I looked at UESP for console codes to have him back through a command, but no I couldn't find a solution by using the console. What else can I do to find him again?

I command him to wait and I wasn't thinking about adding a map marker for the spot when I left him, because I couldn't let him follow me into a fight with a dragon of a quest from Angeir to find more ancient words. Is there anyone who have an idea of how I could find him again?

If you add another follower of his type that should reset his AI and no longer make him follow the wait command. Not sure what quest you're referring to though so I can't really be more specific than that.

I left him waiting in Bleak Falls Barrow and made the mistake of going through a load door. He was gone when I came back.

Apparently it's a bug and can prevent recruiting another canine companion.

I also lost him once. Not sure if he's still present in the game world, but I eventually received a message that he'd 'returned home' while I was exploring a Dwemer ruin.
