The Strip gate is locked.

For some [censored] reason, I cannot go into the Vegas strip. I've been in there multiple times, and just recently, it says I require a key to get in. What gives?

Securitrons are not bad if you have 1 or 2. A swarm of them will be deadly. Try hosing them down with the 10mm SMG.

i didnt have a problem taking them out. make sure you have some type of rifle for distance shooting and shoot the antenna on the top of them to make them freak out. there's about 5 of them so you'll have careful. have companions helps alot, especially if your not on hard core, cus they can die and if you move far enough away from the fight they will get back up and keep fighting (change them to be aggressive so they automatically start shooting when they revive).

also, if you have a science of 90+ (i think its that high) you get a second option to read some digits to him that makes him freak out and recognize you as ok to pass... when i did this i already killed them and took the key (so im assuming it unlocks the gate when you do this, otherwise whats the point?)... they eventually re spawned and tried to get me to pay, thats when i noticed this new option. killing them will leave you with a shunned status for the strip... which i think is what lead to the NCR guards at the southern end, by the embassy to confront me and demand me to pay them like 200 caps otherwise they start attacking. If you fire back you ruin your rep with NCR so its worth just paying.

I've just come across this glitch now, walked up the gate and despite having been there several times it is now locked. I loaded a save I had from inside Vegas and it is still locked from within. Ridiculous.

I had a similar problem in the BoS bunker, the exit was locked and I had to pickpocket somebody to get the key.

I just had the same problem... Too bad my entire squad is back in Lucky 38 and the Securitron are now Mk II...

EDIT: Anyone tried using the NCR monorail at the military base? May work in the short term/

Mine has resolved itself on its own, I walked up to the gate after a while and although it said it required a key I decided to try it anyway, and it just... worked.

Weird.

I just got locked out, didn't want to try killing the securitrons, and tried this. It worked. I'm going to see if exiting the gate will let me back in...

[EDIT] So I got to the strip using the monorail, went to the Lucky 38 and slept/ unloaded/ refreshed, walked out of the North Gate, now it lets me back in as normal. Maybe this is a possible workaround/ quick fix as opposed to fighting with bots (I don't know if that'd affect my rep in the strip/ Freeside).
