Ok, now some of us (Most of us) think the Strip in Fallout: New Vegas was sad. Let's be honest, it was. The beta Strip we saw in all of the videos with Josh Sawyer was so much better. A new patch is being released fairly soon and it mentioned Strip changes. This made me think, why not make a patch for the Strip? Or SOMETHING that would clean it up, or make it better etc.

I lead a team of modders who are DEVOTED to making the Strip better, and people enjoy the nice Strip. The Strip shouldn't have been left under developed, or half - assed, whatever you want to call it. Look at this picture:

THAT was the beta Strip. No gates, better LBV Station, no scrap walls, etc. We ALL want to see this in our games, as the real Strip. Of course, a full Strip can always bring a bit of lag around, but there's a FNV4GB mod that fixes that instantly. At the very VERY least, give us, the loving fans, a Strip that we can enjoy. Something like that of the beta Strip.

i totally agree the strip was was average imo but i can remember reading somewere that gamebryo couldnt handle it

But it COULD handle it, we all saw that in the stage demos. Populated with NPCs, and even a bigger area, so theres no excuse. Plus, if people can handle the open Strip in my mod, then the developers will be able to fix performance etc. here and there, no doubt. And think of console players, they can't get a FNV4GB but regaurdless, it would still work for them.

Yah part of FNV was the strip and the strip was a let down.

It was pretty svcky, I think that if it just hadn't had those damn loading screens and some real walls around it it would have made it so much better, adding a few more people walking around would been nice too.

Frankly I tend to avoid the Strip and Freeside as long as I can. Not so much because it's cut up into loading screens ( which is seriously annoying btw ) but because all the missions are so boring . It's all like, go see person X , so you walk through 5 loading screens to see person X and blah blah blah , yada yada yada person X wants you to go see person Y...So you walk through 4 more loading screens to chew the fat with person Y who wants you to go back and talk to person X some more , and I just wanna kill a few people and blow some things up . Is that so wrong ?

My PS3 already gets pretty laggy and can freeze easily in one of The Strip's three sections. If they made it a whole and with more NPC's, it wouldn't help.

I see your point, but with the new performance fixes coming in the new patch, and not to mention performance fixes in future patches, it should balance it out and become stable. After all, all the stage demos were played on the Xbox 360, and it was completely open, even slightly larger than what we have now, and played without a hitch.

It is pretty unimpressive, but i doubt any change is going to made in a patch. Which leads to the question what is this mod you speak of, OP?

The Strip is fine when you first get into Vegas. Gamblers everywhere (at least around the Gomorrah). Gradually though, they fade away and soon its just a bunch of NCR soldiers.

I suppose its because Gamebyro couldn't take it, but its still disappointing considering its hype.

Well yeah sure, if the patch(es) decrease the amount of lag, frequency of freezing, and other bad stuff: I see no reason not to break up The Strip from it's sections.

I would state respectfully, that you do not speak for me. I have a voice and would rather use it myself, rather than someone else do it for me...especially when I disagree with them, which in this case I do. there is nothing wrong with the strip.

If you disagree, then why you are you here? I can speak for the thousands of people that have told me they hate the Strip. And I never said you didn't have a voice.

Nor I. One would think that someone speaking with such a singular voice would choose a less, well, open avenue to present their findings, say a blog or something? Posting on an open forum, where the guiding principle is that everyone has an opinion and a voice would tend to render one's self-avowed preeminence rather moot, wouldn't it?

Ya know what? Let me change my slightly faceteous reply and go with this, now that I've read all the thread:

1. I find it hard to beleive that anyone expects to be taken seriously when they (sub) title a thread like you did. Really? "Listen up"?

2. There is a rule against petition threads. You might find that if you read the rules. One was already locked earlier today if you wish further proof. And this, judging by the last sentence of your OP seems to be a petition thread in all but name.

3. I think you need to realize that your view of the situation is not the only one out there and that as much as you wish to petition Bethesda (who wouldn't do the patch anyways, Obsidian would) to change it there's also many others who completely disagree with you and would petition otherwise (well, except that we know petitions are against the rules, so we really wouldn't)

4. You post a question on an open forum and then castigate people who disagree with you? Either you make the thread willing to allow discussion of your points, or it's just a petition thread. Which one is it? It's your call if I hit the report button or not.

Anyways I agree the strip was disappointing only giving us 3 usable casinos with lousy themes. The best one is the Lucky 38, but to bad it isn't used as a Casino. They could have added maybe 2 more with better themes, than fancy, six fiends, and good entertainment.

If you don't like the strip, that's fine, but when you post a topic attempting to speak for everybody, and then somebody comes along and disagrees with you on your opinion, don't cry foul. This is a forum where people have differing opinions, people won't always agree with you. I am a case in point.

Not enough casinos with actual gambling on the strip for my tastes. I get banned from all the game's casinos(including DM), but I want to go play blackjack/slots on my main guy. Guess I'm sol. The strip made me cry...then I went and played FO3 :celebration:

I am actually suprised to see people post they thought it was good. But hey, whatever works for you.

Yeah, for all of you people who are getting some what offended by this topic, stop. It's just my opinions, if you don't agree then fine, but be nice about it. Just keep it clean guys, please. I'd much prefer this topic to stay alive than to get locked because of arguing.
