Might be able to help if I knew exactly what the problem was...as is, I'll take a guess:

Yes, the Strip does indeed have entrance requirements the first time you go there-

Spoiler
You can submit to a credit check, and if you have 2,000 caps or more you can come and go as you please from then on. You can get a forged passport in Freeside.

If this isn't your first time there, well... perhaps if you clarify what the problem is, precisely.

Im over 100 hours into the game, saved before the point of no return, to wander and things..
Basically, last night, i left the strip, with my ballistic fist, to beat people up, Fiends & Legion..
I go to enter a building, cannot remember presisley which one, and it freezes my ps3, so i turn it off and go to bed..
Today i come to play it, i continue my head smashing, and start to look for food..
I go to enter the strip to go to ultra luxe, and it requires a key ?
I brought the fake ID, after id payed the 2,000 caps requirements (Im rich off playing caravan)
Thats about it really... <_< <_<

Or use the McCarran rail, that'll auto-unlock it for you supposedly.

The console froze as the Autosave was being generated? Are you trying to play off of the Autosave? It could be corrupted. Load an earlier save and see if you have the same issue entering the strip.

He/she has a PS3, not a PC.

I had this problem earlier too. I went into the Strip using the monorail though, and it unlocked for me afterwards. The monorail is in Camp McCarran in case you didn't know.

The rail network got blew up in a quest, i 'think' i herd on the radio or some troops about it being fixed...
Ill check it out, game froze (5 time in 2 hours...)
Also, yeah it was an auto save, but because the game froze lastnight i turned it off and went to bed and loaded up the autosave, as i had played a fair bit, i was going to save, but it froze..

I had the same problem (one of many bugs I ran into). I just killed the gatekeeper and took the key from him.

I had this problem as well once, I couldn't use the monorail either.
I got in by shooting one of the securitron gate keepers, they all have the key to the gate (I used a stealthboy first to prevent the Strip from turing hostile towards me).

If you get it going again, turn off the Autosave Features. Making these saves at each cell load contributes to chances that the Autosaves corrupt over time. Also, trying to write to a corrupted autosave can freeze the game. Using a corrupted Autosave can cause freezing.

Rely on a series of manual save slots. Make a milestone slot every hour or two. You can always delete them later.

I loaded my manual save from the night before, its fine now..
But, i can't understand why such a good game can be so poor.. It freezes on average 7 times a day (3 Hour plays - Not continuous)
It takes FOREVER to load, to some extents where i think its froze (Longest its took is 3 minutes)
There are so many stupid glitches, characters walking into the floor, monsters getting stuck half way in the ground, your weapon animation actually working, but nothing coming out the end of the gun, sound effects, the list is literally endless.
If the patch, when they decide to release it, doesn't fix the problems, then im going back to Fallout 3.

3 minutes is not long. I understand the crashing thing but the 3 minute is not a problem with the game.

I've never played a game on a 360 or a PS3, but 3 minute loading times seems like a VERY long time to me. I've never seen a game with loading times that long, and if I did I would probably not play it very often.

Are you serious ? I was only going into the Kings 'base' that takes 3 minutes to load ?
How they can get away with releasing a game in this state is beyond me, Fallout 3 wasn't bad for me (Until DLC came out, and my save went over 10MB)
My save on New Vegas is 11mb, i dont know what to say without swearing, the games a [censored] joke in some senses.
It freezes so much, it pisses me off. Glitches, Bugs, Yeah its an awesome game, though the story line is actually pretty crap, and the ending is even crapper, its still awesome.
I don't get, how people can sit there and defend it ? How can you possibly defend it.. Not about story line, im talking about the problems with this game, you cannot defend it, devs messed up.. (Yet again)
Not more i can say, i want to play the game, but then again, why play something you know will crash in a few minutes ? I payed £40 on release date for this game, i didnt pay that amount of money for a broken product, i didnt pay for freezes every 10 minutes, i didnt pay for bugs. I payed for fallout, and frankly theres more bugs than fallout.

3 minutes is actually a very long time just to get through loading screens. I haven't come across a game that bad unless it froze while it was loading, and then started working again.

3 Minutes is actually kinda long to wait for a game to load. Even the 1 minute mark is pushing it if your as impatient as me.
