Necromancy seems incredibly under-developed/useless on the whole. I definitely feel the pull to try a Necromancer run-through, but don't see it really going anywhere.
I almost wish Beth hadn't wasted the time putting in what they did, and instead included something like spear or horseback fighting, or something that they could more easily justify as being an addition to a current skill set as opposed to a possible skill set in itself.
Anyone else feel that way, or am I just missing something when it comes to whats available for Necromancers?
Here's what you need to do to be an uber powerful necromancer:
1) Join the college and refrain from going above level 30 ( 40 is okay but a bit risky )
2) Get 100 in cojuration and get the Master spell Dead Thrall ( need to do a quest for that one )
3) Advance the college main quest until you reach the part where the archmage dies ( This is where the spell comes into play. You see, the spell only
affects people who are level
40 AND BELOW. Cast the spell on the now recently deceased Arch Mage)
4) Profit and you also get an uber follower ( He summons a Dremora Lord for evey fight you encounter )
Follow this part
IF you have the twin souls perk:
5) Now that you have the ridiculouly powerful Archmage by your side go and find Peryite's Shrine ( located just North-East of Markath )
6) Do the Daedric Quest until you defeat the boss Orchendor ( He's a bit tough so come prepared )
7) Use the Dead Thrall spell on him ( He is
IMMUNE to
FIRE,
FROST, and
LIGHTNING )
8) Profit!
So now you have two ridiculously powerful followers. Throw in a powerful companion and you can pretty much breeze through the whole game.
