The Thalmor are complete and utter sh++ts!

Has there ever been a more despicable race in ES? Beth has done a great job of making us hate them. At least I do. It is clear where TES6 will be set.

I don't hate them. I actually find it a real shame that you can't side with the Thalmor in any way. There would be great RP possibilities for a Thalmor sympathizer.

I have a similar feeling about TES6, though I was pretty sure that TES5 would be placed in Summerset Isle. And on the other hand, I think the tide of the story is sort of attempting to make the Aldmeri Dominion the "enemy", and thus the next game should probably be situated in the remaining parts of the Cyrodiilic Empire. But only time will tell.

You mean group ? Or do you mean the Altmeri race as a whole ?

Altmers from the Summurset Isles are generally quite racist (oh the irony of my statement as I sit here and write this) and believe themselves to be some sort of a master race (remind you of someone ?) that should dominate the others. But there are some good apples amongst the throng of bad ones there.

It would be pretty cool though if Bethesda made a TES game where the other 9 playable races would rise up against the Altmers and would invade their country obliterating them and it would be your job to act as a diplomat try to convince the respected leaders of the other 9 races to allow the Altmers to keep their land and to have a new ruler of the Altmeri dominion appointed that has better morals and respect for other races.

The Thalmor aren't a race... but yes, they certainly need a good bit of murdering. Somewhat takes the wind out of a certain World Eater's sails when he's being outclassed in "I WANT TO KILL THIS X!" factor by enemies that have minimal in-game presence.

They are not a race. They are the current ruling High elf organization. Not all high elves are part of the Thalmor.

Anyway, I kill them whenever I find them escorting their prisoners. My routine is this: I stop them and ask them what's going on, then I try to have a polite conversation on the subject of free religion. Then they attack. I always give then the cutesy of making the first blow. Then they die. I kill them as quickly as possibly. Even the Thalmor deserves a quick and as humane death as possible. Then I collect their helmets and robes as trophies in my house. The rest of their belongings fetch me a good price on the market.

After 60 into my first character who is a typical "hero", I've made a second character who's going to be the worlds greatest thief and assassin. The personal mission I've given him to to WIPE OUT every high elf embassy or representative. :gun:

The Thalmor are the only interesting group in the game.

DB is the DB. They're stereotypical hired killers. The Thieves Guild is... a group of thieves. Boring. The College of Winterhold is as shallow as a tea saucer. The Imperials are worn out has beens grasping at straws. The Stormjokes are jokes. Their ideal victory ensures that they turn the rest of the world against them, which they cannot survive.

Balanced against all of those groups: The Thalmor. A secretive faction of the only functional, expanding power in the game's setting.

The Thalmor rule!

i don't know if tes 6 will be set in summerset...every region we've been to before has been pro-mannish ideas, what would you do on thalmor controlled land? Personally i hope there is another time skip for the next game, with the altmer already brought low by the dragon born and friends.

I think Summerset Isle is very likely for TES6, unless they do a big Thalmor DLC (which I'm not expecting, but you never know). It's a story waiting to happen, and it feels like BGS was thinking along those lines in Skyrim.

I don't like anything that advocates race/fandom/whatever supremacy, so I was happy when I killed those high elf supremacists. They didn't even know how to throw a good party. You don't sell booze at parties(it should be free). You get a band that plays the most parent angering music(I guess bards in general will anger a parent in this game's society) and get drunk or skooma yourself up if you wanna throw a good TES universe party. High Elves should have went to a Khajiit's birthday party before being boring. They don't want to kill Khajiit, at least. Yet... Wonder if the Khajiit from Arena and Daggerfall could convince them how awesome Skooma is for parties.

My hatred of them isn't just parties that are boring. They also are jerks throughout the main quest. Yeah, Thalmor... You only got any help from me because I was strapped for cash.

If they do a full Summerset Isle DLC that would be very cool. Though it may be expecting too much. It would be interesting seeing both setting as the Isles have a drastically different climate than Skyrim from what I understand.

It's hinted at aggressively that conflict between the Empire and the Thalmor will resume soon in presumably a second war, both in the book 'The Great War' and by
Spoiler
some dialogue spoken by Tullius and Rikke once Windhelm is captured, about fearing that the citizens of Tamriel will be called to arms in the not too distant future and etc etc.

I have quite a few hopes for future DLC and one of my most desired ideas has to do with the Thalmor. I think it was in "A Rising Threat" (forget which volume though) that they talk about the battle on the plains of Anvil. Got me thinking that it would be pretty cool to do a siege dlc where you travel to one city (kind of thinking Sentinel or Daggerfall) and have to defend the city from a Thalmor attack. At the very least it would help to move along this overall story of the Thalmor oppression and what the race of Man and Mer is doing against it.

But yes, Thalmor portray the role of dikes pretty well

What this guy said. Also, do the opposite side of the quest.

Spoiler
Ulfric flat out declares war on the Thalmor in his speech when you reunify Skyrim. I'd bite my own ass if Bethesda didn't resolve the Thalmor story arc by having you go to Summerset Isle and dealing with them directly.

In my opinion, we'll probably also see Elsywyr and Valenwood. Finding out just what happened to the moons seems like it would be pretty important, and freeing the Wood Elves seems like it would be pretty important too. If not full sized DLC, at the very least a mission where we're in their capital cities freeing it from the Thalmor.

Altmer have a reason to be stuck up.

They only hate the other races because all the other races are jealous that most Art, Culture, and Laws in Tamriel were founded by the Altmer.

Summerset Isles, Valenwood or Elsweyr. All of them dominated or controlled by the Thalmor.
I would say Hammerfell, but that province (And High Rock) already has a game dedicated to it.

Chancellor Ocato one of the greatest persons of recent ES history, was all for the good of the Empire, the people, and all around a good person. Just through and through and guess what he was an Altmer.

Though I really shouldn't talk since I always refer to them as dirty Mer-Folk. But to be precise, really the Thalmor are the only "bad" Mer, the Altmer as a whole havea rather elitist and hierarchical culture but that doesn't make them all bad. It'd be like sterotyping in the real world. They aren't all psychotic. Just a select group.

I would rather.. Elder Scrolls VI Battles of the Western Sea... Adding in High Rock, Hammerfell, and Summerset Isles.. Also possibly Anvil in Cyrodiil..

But if they want they Could add in Valenwood and Elsewyr because they are under Thalmor control..
