The Thalmor killed Lydia!

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 4:13 pm

I really hope there's some DLC added to put a stop to the thalmor. It's personal now! I had just left a dungeon with a ton of loot on both me and her, when a thalmor death squad comes walking down the path. No big deal, I say, as they typically don't pose much of a threat. As I take one of them out, Lydia finally catches up and jumps into the battle. When it's all said and done, there are four bodies laying in the snow. The mage of the group took her out. After taking a few moments to pay my respects, I make that slow, overencombered walk to town. I'm really wanting to seek revenge on the entire organization now...

I feel your pain. I will kill more Thalmor in honor of Lydia. My Lydia is my mistress/wife (long story). I would be devastated if she died.

I love you.

Now, back on topic, I think the Thalmor will be sticking arround for several games to come. They're the new Empire, which is nearly done.

Or the Adoring Fan of Skyrim.

Anyways, stupid Thalmor are stupid. On PC you could've resurrected her, but...

Should've turned her into a zombie, then you could've gotten at least another minute worth of running out of her before she turned into a pile of ash.

Or if you were a master at conjuration with the zombie-related perks, turn her into a permanant zombie friend who is actually stronger than her original self.

There is one quest where you have to clear out a bunch of Thalmor. After you complete it, some guards will comment that they've heard you are a pain in the Thalmor's side. The details of how to get the quest and where it is are http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Missing_in_Action.

The other day I decided I wanted to wipe out the Thalmor Embasy so I went there killed all the guards in the barracks and the cortyard but i wouldn't let me go any further. It said I need a key to enter. I searched the dead guards bodies but didn't find any. This is post "Diplomatic Imunity" btw. Is there a way to enter the rest of the Embassy and kill them?

Well, the Enclave has nothing in common with the Nazis (the Enclave is democratic, targets different species of humanoid than different races of human and in the Enclave, both genders and all races of human are equal, something that is against the core principles of Nazism) and Thalmor's policies (both foreign and interior) fit more Imperial Japan than Nazis so... I'm guessing you don't know anything about the Nazis but their name and leader.

I didn't think that your companion npc could die. Mine get beat down a lot but never die. I watched my Lydia get beaten down to her knees by sabertooths but she never died, she just stayed on knees until I got to her.

it's kind of your own fault for provoking them
they usually just go about their business if left alone
I usually kill them as well
just saying it wasn't exactly first degree murder here XD

Lydia regenerates quickly but I've had to load saves several times when she has died. I've equipped here with dwarven plate and given her good weapons but she still dies now and then. Her tactics are, of course, ridiculous. We definitely need better companion AI. At least FO New Vegas allowed you to tell them to be aggressive or passive.

Sometime soon I expect I'll have to leave her behind since according to the forums here companions don't level up with you.

Lydia died everytime for me on this one quest to help an imposter Imperial guard retrieve some Ragnur mask. This happens to be where a really powerful shout is found also. I had to keep reloading and finally tell Lydia to wait outside the chamber.

But I think she does level with you, just not smart leveling. IE her health/magic/stamina points may not be well allocated. I think she levels with the character because I have seen her take out Bandits with 1 hit, kill Bears with ease, barely touch skeletons and they crumble, and stand toe to toe with frost trolls almost beating them.

But, back to Thalmor. The first time I encountered them was like level 7. Three female Thalmor wandering the country side. Thought I could take them, my ego got the best of me... three times.

Lydia only dies by your hand. When she kneels down, she is very susceptible to splash damage. So anything you hit close to her with a spell, especially fireballs, may hurt her. When she goes down, I run away and try to draw them away so she won't take any damage. Even with careful baby-sitting, she gets killed.
