The thalmor.

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 3:17 am

Do you people even read the books you find laying around in your travels? There are so many different aspects of the ideology the races in Elder Scrolls have. I read one book, written by a Thalmor, regarding religious deities in general as being incomprehensible manifestations of lesser minds or something along those lines.

The Thalmor believe they are the only race that should EVER inhabit the entire planet. You are simply a useful tool in their escapade.

I think they are a bunch of stuck up [censored]s who think they can force their ways on others and think they are better then every one so.... they really are the entire high elf race.
That's the main problem with the high elves. Just cuz the altmer are better than everyone else, doesn't mean they get to say so :(

This thread is here to talk about our opinions on the thalmor. If you like to participate. I personally think they are a bunch of buttholes that get very "butthurt" About some human being a god that they have to force an empire to ban the worship of the very person that founded the empire. What do you think?
Even thought they are azzhoes, I got to admit that they are indeed a lot more skilful in term of combat and magical powers than the humans. Today I saw a group of Thalmor and Stormcloaks fighting on the road I was travel, as predicted the Thalmor won with 1 man still alive and both side were equal in numbers (3 vs 3). The Thalmor is able to use sword and shoot fire at the same times so that's why they won I guess but I killed off the last one to make it fair  . After all, Skyrim belong to the Nord!! (even though i'm red guard).

Technically all of Tamriel (including Skyrim) belongs to the elves, the humans are the evil invaders and conquerors

Yep the Thalmor controls the fragile and broken empire. The stories that stem from this are going to be amazing.

Just a reminder, Talos IS in fact a God. It was proven in Oblivion.

So do you think there will be an Expansion centered around them? I'm of the opinion yes

I suppose the fact that the Stormcloaks use iron/steel weapons and leather-based armor and the Thalmor use glass and Elven armor and weapons had nothing to do with it?

The fact that he can bestow a blessing is proof enough. Idk why the Thalmor insist on him not being one. Aside from them hating that a human achieved divinity

No, Man and Mer descend from a common ancestor, thus the land belongs to both.

Don't sweat it Daryn, Dras really likes the Thalmor (probably trolling tbh)

Anyways, I can definitely see Lorkhan or Talos and the Thalmor involved with the next Expansion, along with the rest of the Dragons

Yeah. THALMOR SCUM! :P
I bet that if you spared Paarthurnax then you will be able to have draogns help you against them. Damn, dragons would turn the tide REAL quick. Thalmor qon't know what hit them...
However, Lorkhan is totally dead. After tricking Dagon into losing half of his realm (Tamriel), Lorkhan was killed and became two very pretty moons. Talos however, would be awesome if you get to speak with his avatar or something. They'd better get the most kickass VA to voice him too... What if he sort of fuses with Dovahkiin and you effectively become his avatar on Tamriel

i think another side of the thalmor may be revealed in expansions/later games because tes tends to stay away from pure "bad guys" like the Thalmor have been portrayed as thus far
then again, they are supposed to be Nazis

That would be interesting, and it would certainly make me stop killing them on a regular basis. But somehow, after all that they have done, I rather doubt that will happen

What else could they be? They murder and torture innocents. There is no way in Oblivion that you can cast them as being somewhat good.

Pelinal Whitestrake and Talos himself are perfect examples!

Pelinal danced on the line of sanity, often slaying more than was necessary. He was also a racist, yet he helped free the humans from the Ayleid rule

Tiber Septim betrayed his own battlemage, had Barenziahs child aborted, and slew many in the name of our Empire

Talos wasn't racist though. He united every race under equality. He aborted his and Barenziah's child because it threatened his heirs' rule, not out of racism. The fact that he created the most powerful and prosperous empire on Nirn (supposedly) says that he did something right.

Pelinal on the other hand had perfectly legitimate reasons to hate elves. If you and your people were enslaved by another people, you would not exactly invite them to tea

I'm simply saying things aren't as simple as good/evil for most people. All history accounted, yes, the Thalmor are pretty bad. But who knows, maybe there's something we don't know about them.

I suppose. Still hate em though

Especially the Justiciars, who say "Incorrect, you can worship any god you wish, but Talos is a man." When I say I can worship whatever I want. bastardi

Idk who Shor even is. I read that he is aa Nordic version of Lorkhan I think? But yes, Talos is awesome and I hope he makes it into the expansion
Do Divines each have their own "sphere" of rule? I know they represent different thigns, but do any of them ahve a special plane designated to them akin to the Daedra Planes? Maybe if they do you can become Talos incarnate. Kind of like Shivering Isles

Shor is essentially Lorkhan, or Shezarr in Cyrodillic (The lost Divine). He is allied with men, especially against elven aggression

Aedra, if I remember correctly, do not have counterparts to the Realms of Oblivion. They reside in Nirn, and they do infact govern certain ideals:

Stendarr: God of Justice and Mercy
Julianos: God of Logic and Magic
Zenithar: God of Commerce
Kynareth: God of Nature
Dibella: God of Beauty
Mara: God of Love
Arkay: God of the Cycles (Seasons, Life and Death)
Talos: God of Heroes and Civil society
Akatosh: Dragon God of Time, Patron of the 9

Lorkhan: The "Dead God". Convinced the 9 to create Nirn
