The Thing(2011)

Having just watch the first one today(and for the third time, I might add), I went into The Thing with pretty high expectations regarding continuity. I was not disappointed, as The Thing(a prequel) tied into the first movie almost seamlessly, and will resonate with any fan of the first movie from 1982. The writing is as top-notch as the first movie, and so is the acting. The changes to the formula the first movie used are subtle, but provide a fresh take on the same vibe of the first movie.

I walked out of the theater, pleased with how they connected the two films. Some gripes I had though was the use of CGI. The creature(s) in the first movie are absolutely amazing in quality and presentation. The Thing(2) used CGI for the creature, and some (disgusting)charm is lost in the transition. Don't worry, you will still be cringing when you watch it, but just not as much as the first movie made you.

All in all, it was a very good film - 9/10

Sounds great, but one question, any Norwegian dialog?

Minor spoilers
Spoiler
A bit, but some of the Norwegians speak English, and there are Americans at the camp. Some stuff is subtitled throughout the movie.

Ah, that's good. Would be a little dissapointing if there aren't any Norwegian dialog at all, when there are Norwegian actors in the movie.
