The things kids say...

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 11:19 am

SO I was wandering around Solitude last night, and I finally took notice of the kids that's always sitting just inside the door to 'Bits and Pieces' General Store.

He says "I thought adventurers were supposed to look tough?" when my Khajiit is wearing full Daedric Armor...

When i go to leave he says "I'll bet my dad could beat you up."

So I loaded up my Dunmer Assassin, and went to Solitude, went into Bits and Pieces and he said it again (mind you, I'm the listener and I'm in full Ancient Shrouded Armor.

So as my Dunmer is leaving, the kid still taunts me with the comment about his dad beating me up. I actually talked to my tv and said:

"I'll bet I could kill your dad before he ever knew I was there"...

lol

So what kinds of things have the children of Skyrim said to you guys that you either though was funny as hell, or damnably frustrating?

You why bethesda likes making kids incredibly annoying in their games ? because they're immortal and you have to deal with it somehow, to me that's torture :meh:

The only child I actually like in the game is Alvor's daughter. She's not that annoying really and is actually pretty funny the way she speaks to her mum. Sadly she's an orphan now as her parents were both killed in a dragon attack.. She spends most of the day standing by her father's forge.

For realism. Kids are incredibly annoying in real life, too. ;)

Well if it's for realism then they shouldn't be immortal either :yucky:

Yeah, unfortunately that would never be allowed. I wouldn't actually kill kids myself (always play as a good character) but having them die in game would be a lot more realistic, not to mention emotional as the parents tried to get over their loss.

That's what Oblivion did good, no kids.

It was even more annoying in Fallout.. Kids would get killed all the time in a nuclear wasteland, Deathclaws. Not to mention bandits and slavers would have torn through Little Lamplight, not posted some lone bandit outside to contract you to enslave one measly child.

Yeah i agree, still i'm happy that there isn't any kid in Skyrim that is like James Hargrave or Mayor Mccready because these kids maked me facepalm, even more annoying than Adoring Fan in oblivion imo.

Despite being a good character I would have liked to put a bullet between McCready's eyes. Hated that little [censored].

The worst part of Whiterun, is that the narrow paths can make it tough to avoid the annoying kids, as well as the advlts.

Braith (the light-skinned Redguard), is the only kid that I actually hate. The others are just overly chatty and repetitive, just like the advlts. I was all too happy to tell Braith to leave Lars Battle-Born alone, though I wish that I could use more than just words to convince her.

"I'm not afraid of you, even if you are my elder".. ARRRRRRRGHHHHHH

Nazeem is just asking for trouble as well, he walks about insulting every single person in town, including me. I'd like to challenge him to one-on-one combat in the old Nord way.

Then crumple him in one slash from my sword.

"I'm not afraid of you, even if you are my elder!"

Says a little girl to a Dunmer Warrior/Assassin who can turn into a werewolf, the harbinger of the Companions, and can drop almost anyone in a second. Yeah, I'll let that slide. NOT!

Ok guys, even though I understand some of your points we are precipitously close to crossing that boundary of certain Forum rules. Let's chill out on the talk of possibly harming the kids.

I don't want my thread locked. :D
