The Twilight Sepulcre... so that's it?

I'd never completed this part of the Thieves Guild Quest the first time around because I wanted to hang on to the Skeleton Key. No more tedious lockpicking; it sure was nice. But this time around I decided to just keep 70 or so lockpicks on me at all times and finish the quest.

I had to fight exactly three Nightingale ghosts and in terms of loot, I don't think there was any worth mentioning. I did give the two ghosts in a sideroom a miss because I was in a hurry (it was late) but for some reason I was under the impression that I was going to get a boatload of coin from this particular adventure; it's the only reason I completed the quest. I wanted to finish decorating my house in Solitude. But instead I got a marginally useful power that I can used once a day. Yay?

Does anyone know if it's worth going back through the entrance to kill those two ghosts?

Also in the guidebook it says that I would now be leader of the Thieves Guild. But apparently you have to complete all the City Influence Quests as well? That one [censored] down in the Ragged Flaggon still talks smack to me no matter how many times I've beaten him down with the Gloves of the Pugilist and dammit, I want my 20,000 gold I was expecting.

P.S. Yes, I know I get the 20K from the Dark Brotherhood but I'd read somewhere that I'd get the same amount from the Thieves Guild.

My thief got a boat load of gold doing those radient quests.
Of course I spent most of it on archery training.

You don't just get the Nocturnal power (you have a choice of 3 that you can change whenever you want) you also get the Nightingale Armor, Nightingale Sword, and Nightingale Bow. The bow is pretty badass if you're not at a high level already. But the suite is pretty sweet too.

And you only become the Guild Leader after completing all the city influence quests. Read your guide again. The very last page of the Thieves Guild quests will tell you that.

Is it different than the Nightengale Armor I was already given? I got the Nightengale Bow after killing Mercer Frey. I got all that stuff before arriving at the Darkness Returns quest, which takes place in the Twilight Sepulcre. And like I said, the power I got is fine; it'll be useful in a pinch. And yeah, I know I need to finish the City Influence quests but I thought the coin would be given before that. For example, in the Dark Brotherhood quests, once you complete all the Critical Quests, you get that 20K, which you can keep all or part of. The quests following that are just more things to do; but you're still the leader and you still have the coin.

I don't know what your hidden quote has to do with anything.
