The unreachable parts of the map (far west/east/north)

just for giggles i took a look at las vegas on google maps and guess what (well, some people surely knew this already) - most of the the locations you'll find in the game are actually there. all the small towns anyways.

before posting a reply/speculation about those areas please take a look at them via google maps or something and see for yourself what is to be found there

when i realized that there are some non accessible parts of the map (far west/east/north) i thought that the developers are surely saving them for the upcoming dlcs. but a closer look at tose areas revealed to me that in fact said areas are mostly empty. only 2 small towns and a couple of even smaller points of interest which would be at the very edge of the map which could also mean that they aren't on the map at all (the scale of the fo:nv and the real map differ a little). since the map in fo3 was also very close to the real life map of the area i guess if those areas will ever be available for us to take a stroll there they'll very likely be what they are in real life: an empty desert wasteland (i don't mean to offend the people who might be living there but you gotta admit, there are more exciting places on earth for most people) oO

so i guess we'll need to get used to the idea that we'll never be able to enter those areas. at least if none of the dlcs will be called "plain desert boredom" or something like that.

I disagree, the canyon wreckage is an obvious path passed the mountains to the west, I suspect we will see thtat wreckage removed in DLC.

There is a passage way near goodsprings that is inaccessible, I suspect that being a point for map extension.

well,so is the gate at the outpost and the way across the dam after clearing it or the northern passage. but if you take a look at the map (real life map that is) you'll find that the areas that are also on the in game map of fo:nv are plain empty desert. so if any of those ways lead somewhere it has got to be to an area much further away i.e. not an area which you can see on the current fo:nv ingame map
