Vampiric drain can only possibly be considered useful at extremely low levels, this is because the vampiric drain only drains 2 hp per second, this might sound cool but it is actually very useless because 2 hp per second would mean that it takes about 15 seconds to kill a bandit, a regular weak bandit, so i would strongly recommend never using it, except for cosmetic appeal.
2. Illusion is recommended
If you become a vampire, you are going to need sneak no matter what your build is, you could choose to practice on your sneak, or you could kill two birds with one stone with illusion magic. Illusion will give you the invisibility spell and muffle, which will basically will make you as if your sneak was 100. Plus illusion magic really fits the vampire experience and gives you really useful spells that can save your life in combat.
3. Need to feed? Whiterun
The temple in whiterun (the one with the annoying sick and injured people) is always stalked full with permanent sleeping npcs. Yeah, you can feed on them. So if you ever need a cheep feed, go feed on the sick and injured.
4. Just because you can't regenerate, doesn't mean you can't
One of the biggest downsides to being a vampire in skyrim is being unable to regenerate magika, health, and stamina, but this can be fixed with a simple wardrobe change. Find clothes that give you say a 100% faster magika regeneration, this will counteract the vampire weakness and make you normal. Wear 3 clothes items that give you a 100% boost and you can easily survive in sunlight
5. Fire hurts
Another downside of being a vampire is the annoying weakness to fire, at stage 1 a 25% weakness, stage 2 50% and so on. Wearing clothes items can fix this, but what i recommend is playing as a Dunmer or Dark Elf. Why? Because Dark elves get a 50% resistance against fire, so say bye to fire weakness.
6. Want a cure?
Why would you want to be cured? Being a vampire is awesome! But if you do want a cure, talk to the innkeepers about rumors, eventually you will get a quest that will start you on your road to becoming a puny and weak mortal.
