The very first time I climbed the mountain and Paarthurnax showed up I was like OH CRAP and proceeded to blast him with thunder bolts and then once I learned he was awesome I reloaded .-.


also how badly did you mess up his face when he demanded that you shout at him ? will his face forever be covered in blood because my Paarthurnax's face was turned completely inside out .-.

I already knew he was a dragon before I got there.

When I blasted him with the shout he looked exactly the same as he did before. The "Fire Breath" shout didn't harm him at all. In fact, he liked it.

Heh. You think Parthurnaax was a surprise, just wait. You'll get a bigger one in the same location later.

I hit him with Marked for Death, and he seemed very wary of me all of the sudden. lol

The dialogue didn't change, but the tone did.

Got out my bow to start shooting, might have shot a few arrows before realizing he wasn't going to attack me. It was a pretty cool moment though, let me know that not all dragons are bad.

Well with a name like that I figured out he was a dragon. I was wary of blasting him with the fire thuum when asked. But you know I really like him. He's a very old and magnificent creature.

when i got to the top, the word 'throat of the world' gave me an uncomfortable feeling in my throat. Really. I might have stopped playing for a few minutes then while trying to drink some water. It made me thirsty o.o

I panicked and took out my bow, but he instantly landed and started talking. I was just staring stupidly at him trying to realize what just happened.

That frost troll is a menace. No wonder the innkeeper doesn't deliver take-out anymore.

I agree that the game kind of telegraphed the "Paarthurnax is a dragon" surprise.
