I love the look of orcish daggers and ebony battleaxes.

As a whole I think they did a good job with how the weapons in this game look.

Depends on the situation, but as a close combat weapon, I usually use Dragonbane for dragons, Chillrend in general combat or a Daedric sword with a soul trap enchantment (for re-charging my other weapons). For ranged combat, I use an enchanted Daedric bow with Daedric arrows. Occasionally, I use other weapons, but they're my favorites.

meh, i used to hate using daedric and ebony weapons because they were too easy to kill things with and the game felt less like a challenge.

i always used to use
imperial sword (legendary)
steel sword
elven bow
dawnbreaker

Elven bow, definitely. Ghostblade is my favourite weapon, but I just started dual wielding a katana and a scimitar: no messing, just bloodshed.

Keeping in mind that best weapons is subjective my main character works well with the Mace of Molag Bal, Blade of Woe, and various custom enchanted role specific weapons. I would like to see more innovations with mage specific weapons that maybe take the place of guantlets like prayer beads that add effects. I'd be curious to see weapons that could be used to snare enemies like whips. bolas, or functioning craftable traps for non-violent players and to let companions or conjured things do the fighting.

I love the Skyforge steel weapon you get for free at the lower levels; take your pick, then just improve it every time you level up smithing. They stay ahead of most other weapons for ages. Except for the dagger... you can't improve it, so it kinda svcks.

I mainly use the Daedric Bow, Daedric Sword & Ebony Sword (received from a Daedric Quest) which is two-handed.

The Mace of Molag Bal is the best imo for my Battlemage. It's very strong and has the nice soul trap ability so I always have filled soul gems =)

The Sword of Herp

The Blade of Derp

Matching Daedric swords that drain the opponents health.

Ancient Nord Battle Axe has the finest look and swinging it feels awesome.

For one-handed I prefer iron sword or Blade's sword.

For ranged I like the long bow.

In DLC I would like to see new and better variations of iron and steel weapons or something like that. We already have advanced armor perk and I think it would be awesome to have under it also advanced weapons so we can start calling it "advanced smithing perk".

I approve of iron sword and longbow, but not the iron war axe. It's too big and awkwardly shaped to be realistic. I wish there were more things like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a6/Dane_Axe.JPG/601px-Dane_Axe.JPG

I have a 42 lvl. character who still sports a set of fur armor with iron sword and a hunting bow. They're all upgraded with smithing though.

My favorites are one step up: steel. And I can get it as skyforge steel, making it even better.

m m m m my schiavona ...

My own mod of a schiavona. My main character is a light armored fighter thief. The schiavona is a basket hilt battlefield sword from the 1600s. The basket hilt is a bit of of place, but it is not something that was beyond the ability of a medieval sword maker.

I'm quite fond of Steel and Nordic Hero weaponry, though it's a shame the latter lacks scabbards.
