It doesn't have any intangible qualities, such as personality, that solidify a common perception among players. It is also never directly interacted with, at least in a way that gives you direct feedback like a conversation. However that's what makes it so deep and rich. There is no grand illusion that is easily seen through like scripted AI. The exploration, discoveries, and experiences are what keep the game feeling fresh through multiple playthroughs.
I'm kind of glad that the game doesn't have these overly bloated, predefined characters that provide about as much depth as a cardboard cutout.
