Oh, yes and lowering our immune systems by removing all bacteria - remember the rabbit experiment? Anti-bacterial soaps, too. I've got news for you people: soap is anti-bacterial in it's nature!

I'm not even gonna' bother explaining why.

I like to point out to people that under non-injury circumstances, the bacteria that exist on their skin are doing them a great service by providing an environment that decreases the chances of a transient pathogen getting a foothold. Also bacterial soaps and lotions don't kill 99.9% of bacteria. They have the potential to should exposure time be sufficient but more importantly, the stuff doesn't wipe out 99.9% of
pathogens, which is what people are worried about (whether they understand the difference between a pathogen and a non-pathogen). Therefore, not only are they contributing to the evolution of
S. aureus species like MRSA, they're also wiping out the good bacteria that protects them against pathogens that would otherwise do them harm.
I think we've officially derailed and killed the thread.
