I have Shadowmere for my assassin and Arvak for my evil wizard, I have a paladin, but neither of those really fit him and regular horses die faster than you can say oh crap there goes 1000 septims.

Dragons can take you anywhere! As long as you use fast travel. And don't want to land INSIDE major cities

I think Frost has a little more health than other horses, but I'm not entirely sure.

Apparently he doesn't but he has something about him that makes him quite exceptional.

The only horse you can take/ride in Soltstheim is Arvak.

Frost has better stamina than an ordinary horse. He can run quite a bit farther before tiring.

Probably due to being bred for racing or some such...

Given that the entire Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon set didn't feature any rideable horses, I'd say that they're extinct in Solstheim. I would have given my kingdom for a horse in those early low-athletics days...
