The Legion are luddites. The Bros all but literally worship technology.

So... no.

Caesar alludes that he may under the right circumstances consider it, so I was hoping. I want to assassinate kimball but didn't care to wipe out the box to get to that point. Also I want to cure Caesar of his brain tumor so that he is coherent enough to realize the last thing that will be passing through his mind is a 45/70 gov.

?.? For me, it doesnt matter who the Elder is. If Im on a Legion playthrough, I have to kill them. But, overall, it doesnt phase me too much. But I guess I'll have to try it again to see if it is possible

In that case, is there any way of siding with the Brotherhood and Yes Man/Independent? The wiki kind of suggests not, but I don't see why it should be any different from the other minor factions when following the independent path.

Or are the only options regarding the BoS limited to destroying them, or getting them to join with the NCR....and nothing else?

With the Independent path you can do whatever you want. You can't ally with the Brotherhood and get reinforcements for the battle at Hoover Dam, but you have the option of joining them or leaving them alone if you don't want to destroy them.

I think that the game should have allowed a player opting for an Independant Vegas to ally with a certaoin faction and bring it into preeminence with him. A Follower-allied character (like most of mine) could use New Vegas's vast power and financial intake to restore prosperity to the area, while a Brotherhood-allied character could take control of the area's technology. The Kings, the Boomers, and others could also have their endings. All that would be required would be that the player must have Idolized status with the faction, and be advanced enough to make a rational decision (Level 15 or higher).

Only way the BoS survives to the endgame is either to ally them with the NCR - only if MacNamara's the elder - or instruct Yes Man to leave them alone. Every other ending requires their destruction.

Caesar's Legion and the BoS are about as far removed from each other as possible. Despite their antagonism towards the NCR, the enemy of his enemy is not his friend - probably due to the the tech issue. Caesar deplores the use of advanced tech - see his comments when you suggest that the Securitron army could be used for the Legion. Caesar sees them as nothing more than a dangerous tribals whose ideals threaten his Legion, the BoS sees the Legion as a "band of savages".

I am pretty sure that you can if Hardin is the elder, make sure you try all the dialogue options with Caesar.

I agree on this.
Its a bit like WW2. Both Sovjet and the allies fought the germas, but could they be allies?
