Is there anyway to get on the good side of the Thalmar?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 11:42 am

So every playthrough I pretty much end up slaughtering and destroying as much thalmar as I can. During my current playthrough I'm basically going to try the opposite of that... only I can't figure out where to start.

But, they are so much fun to kill.....

Yes, just adhere to their religious views, and don't invade their embassy, or their fort, or ruin their plans and they will leave you alone.

So, no, not really.

If you avoid the MQ and possibly the Civil War (there maybe a way to do that) then you should not trigger their wrath. It all depends on what you want to get out of the game.

Not really, no.
The most you can is a small side quest, but it has no impact with the Thalmor in general, they treat you the same.

The Thalmor are scumbags why do you want to get on their good side? Don't be an empire milk drinker and just tank their asses.

There's a quest you can do for Ondolemar, the Thalmor leader in Markarth. According to UESP, anyway - I've never personally done it.

I know that if you're on pc, you can add yourself to their faction in the console. Didn't try it yet 'though, but I will in the future.

I think you're all missing the primary and very obvious problem with the OP's question, i.e., the fallacy inherent in assuming that the Thalmor have a good side to get on in the first place. :P

Jumping off a tall cliff is the only way to get on the Thalmors good side.

Oh, I dunno. It's possible that taking a long walk on a short pier might suffice, if the water in the area is deep enough.

Paarthurnax calls you a child of Akatosh, You're Dragonborn potential proof of Talo's divinity. You can't possibly be on the Thalmor's goodside.

There's a few, probabely.

You can
Help Saadia.
Steal the amulet of talos from Ogmund.
Don't invade thier fort in Missing In Action.
Don't attack them when they are travelling.
Agree with their views.

Don't invade their embassy in the main quest.
If you do the main quest you will make them angry.

Sadly you can't join or side with them much, which is a shame. I would if I could.

You could proabely do more on PC.

Sadly not doing the main quest can be considered a big draw back.
A mage using pacify and some pickpocketing could probably do the embassy without inflciting any casualties.

Yes, I'm sure they'll be much happier being dead because Alduin destroys the world. I'm planning a pro-Thalmor character and I'm going to do the main quest, but I'll sneak through and not rescue any of the prisoners.

You'll have to face them whether you like it or not, when doing the cornered rat. Ondolmer's misc task is the closest thing to Thalmor faction quest in the game. Which sort of svcks.

Alrighty. I pretty much wanted to see if they had really their own reasons for things, but apparently their just a group of power hungry high elf-supremecists. Then I guess i'm just going to bring lightning and dragons down on them as usual. lol now that I know there's really no other way I can resume happily hunting these annoying people... on a side not has anyone else run into Thalmor in black elven armor?

Max out illusion, get the perks, and spam calm spells. You don't have to kill them.

I might have seen black elven armour. It could be a bug, that the elven armour appears black then fixes itself.
I've seen black armour, then when you search them, it's normal coloured.

I believe you're referring to the quest in Markarth. The locals have a 'friendly' group of Thalmor inquisitors that parade around inside the keep. They offer a quest to find proof of Talos worship off some random npc.
