Is there a finite number of Companions quests?

Hello, so I completed the main story line of the Companions - freed Kodlak's spirit from lycanthropy in the tomb of Ysgramor. Now when I return to Whiterun, the various members of Companions are offering me "work". But these new quests are extremely boring and repetitive, usually it is to travel across whole bloody Skyrim just to kill some wild animal in somebody's house.. I've done 4 of them and there seems no end...
Thing is, I am a completionist, and it extremely bothers me that i always have the journal entry under Miscelaneous "Talk to Companions for work." I want to get rid of it. (in any RPG, i absolutely HATE having clogged up journal with multiple quest entries :S, I want to solve them one by one)

That quest line remains there no matter what -- it's what you get for becomeing the Harbinger.

I think it's a one of those radiant quests, that go on forever.

*sigh*...it seems we will never escape the rat quest...

FWIW, I stopped doing the miscellaneous work for the Companions on my character who became Harbinger, it felt rather silly doing them at that point.

This; no way to get it out of journal as far as I am aware, with the exception of some console tricks on the PC perhaps.

I keep asking for more work, especially Aela. I cured Farkas' and Vilkis' lycanthropy but I am waiting for Aela to also want to be cured. So I keep asking her for work. Silly. I am simply given another boring radiant quest. aaaarrrgghhh!

She won't ask for a cure. Instead she has quests to find Hircine's totems.

IIRC, she will not give them if you've cured yourself.

Farkas and/or Vilkas may also offer another semi-unique quest in place of their usual Radiant ones: to join them in killing a dragon at one of the roosts. This requires that you have completed enough of the main quest to trigger dragon attacks (in addition to being Harbinger).

I've done all the Companions quests, including all the Totems of Hircine; I've shown Farkas and Viklis that I kill dragons (these were both Elders); I'm still afflicted, as is Aela. All there is left are the Radiants — and curing Aela.

I want to cure myself after Aela asks to be cured. I don't think Aela wants to be cured. I don't intend to ask the lads for any more pointless Radiants but I think I will still have to pester Aela for work until she confesses she has the same personal problem.

Maybe I'll forget Aela and cure myself. Dunno. But I sure do want completion for the Companions. [sigh]

Like I said earlier, she'll never ask for a cure. She wants to be a werewolf and go to Hircine's Hunting Grounds; this was the reason for hunting down the totems.
