Yep, gifting it to yourself works fine, you can even use the email you have tied to the steam client. Mines already downloaded (really quickly, just enough time for me to do a few fist pumps and thats about it) Well I bid you all good day.

Yep, self gift works, just finished downloading. Gonna validate the install and defrag before going into Zion.

I did it and yes it worked.
Gift it to your own email address and the transaction goes through.. i had the same error and now its downloaded just go to your email after buying and download it to your own account.

Whod've thought gifting it to myself using the same email that I use for Steam would've actually been accepted?

Although... it's downloading "Fallout New Vegas", which is apparently only 13MB. Some kind of pre-DLC patch, I'm assuming?

ive founda loophole to get past the cant buy it gift it to yourself instead

As noted in another thread you can purchase as a gift, then choose the notify by email option and send the link to your email address. Then it works.

I tried this both online and in steams store and either way i do it i still get the error.
