is there a legit way to earn a headsman's axe?

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 9:10 am

so far, the only way i have found of acquiring a headsman's axe is to kill the executioner in solitude... but i'd rather not become a killer.

is there any possible way to acquire this huge weapon without killing this guy?

stealing isnt an option, either... first, i svck at pickpocketing, second, it would be marked as stolen, making it worthless to me, third... that still isnt a legit way of getting it.

can anyone tell me if there is a way to earn it as a reward, or is it possible to find one in random loot?

by the way, ps3 version... so i cant use the PC cheats... besides, that isnt a legit way, either.

maybe if you have the three words of the disarm shout you can knock it out of his hands. then sheathe your weapon and he should forgive you.

i've read that you can do a quest for him and he will become your follower. maybe then you can take his axe out of his inventory

two problems with this... i tried talking to him before, it wouldnt open a conversation with him, he just kept saying single lines of dialogue, like when you try talking to unimportant people with nothing to say.

second, i tried doing that with a follower before, for some reason, im unable to take their default weapon and armor away from them... they dont even appear in their inventory.

Why would the axe be useless if it's marked stolen? If you intend to just sell the thing, why waste the effort, there are far easier ways to make a buck? And using a stolen weapon shouldn't be an issue, I use a stolen shield and mace and there are no disadvantages. In fact it prevents me from accidentally selling them since they don't show up in merchant screens.

Try getting pick pocketing high enough that you can unlock the perk where you can pick pocket equipped items, then take it that way?

Well they do if they die lol so make him a follower then take him on a fight that he gets his face eaten off or has an accident wink wink....

Once the creation kit is out, I'm pretty sure this will be available as a mod. Probably even better than the default axe.
