...to smuggle all 37 gold bricks out of the vault at the very end. Has anyone done this sucessfully? It's nearly impossible to sneak out since you walk so slowly; however I managed to glitch the gold bars through the force field, but I ended up reloading a past save (haven't been able to produce the same results since). Even so it seems impossible to make it to the door in time over encumbered.

Greedy...but have you tried picking them up by clicking down the right stick and running out with em

Can't pick them up. Game won't let you.

I'm sure glitchers and modders will eventually find a way though.

Those monsters, picking up stuff is my solution for everything.....guess i need a new tactic

Well I was going to kill Elijah, put them on his corpse next to the force field and then try and use the LB glitch to loot his corpse through the force field.

I settled for one. More as a novelty really.

ok thats a good idea, but what if you put the gold bars on elijas body and carry the body out :celebration:

You got to remember that once you kill Elijah you have a short time to get out. Don't think there is enough time.

I DID IT!!!!! talked Elijah down, force fields were inactive, he activated the security the force fields came on and I fell over, but when I got up I was on the otherside!!!

Yeah it turned out for some reason I couldn't activate the lift, and with the other method I tried where I stacked his body against the field, it work I got the gold out but died just before the lift.

YES! I made it. I managed to sneak out in time (no glitches)

EDIT: And for everyone trying to get the gold bars out of the vault, I just had an idea. What if, before you talk to Elijah down there, you deactivate the security, pick up all the gold bars so you're encumbered, walk them to the elevator exit, then drop them their. Then you can return to speak with Elijah, deal with him however you please, make your escape, and just quickly pick up the bars before you activate the exit to escape.

...because as soon as he sees you he puts up a force field. Like I said. It's incredibly hard, but not impossible to sneak out over encumbered if you hurry.

Yeah, I know that. That's not what I suggested.

When you first walk into the vault, there is a terminal in front of you, to your right, and to your left (takes 75 skill to hack I think). The one in front of you will not work until security is deactivated. The one to your right deactivates security. After deactivating security, do NOT access the terminal in front of you yet. Instead, gather the bars, walk them to the exit, drop them, then go activate the terminal and bring Elijah out. Deal with him as you see fit, and if all went according to plan, the bars should be waiting at the exit for you.

When you go into the Vault the door locks behind you, regaurdless of whether you use the terminal or not.

Well, glad we got that cleared up. I never bothered to check since I was more concerned what the real reward was going to be.

Too bad it was nothing more creative than some money and I'm sure there was a moral lesson on greed in there somewhere...
