Is there a "point of no return"?

hey there, one question..

is there a point of no return just like in fallout 3? I mean a situation or quest where you dont have the chance to get back and do what you want?

thanks!

Yes. You get a big warning and an option to proceed or not. It will be very obvious when it happens.

There is also a point of commitment to a certain faction: once you do enough stuff for a certain faction you can't swap to an endgame sequence with another one. You are alerted to this via a quest popping up, basically saying "If you keep working for these guys, you're out of favor with these other guys".

If you side with NCR you can go back to the wasteland after
Spoiler
you kill the Legate
. When prompted to go to
Spoiler
the gate to meet General Oliver

just avoid that area completely. (other factions probably give
you a similar ending trigger that you can avoid).
Instead find a door on the camp fence that requires a key to open,
then go to the upper area where there brahmin hides being cured,
find a wooden barrel, drag that barrel to the locked door, drop it
upright against the door or any other section of fence just as low,
jump over and walk back to wherever you have to go. You can no
longer fast travel and can only enter the strip with the Mccarran
monorail (without console codes).
