There should be unenchanting in skyrim.

Have you ever found a piece of armor that you really like, but hate the enchantments on it? Then it turns out it is the only type of that armor in the game, and you get just a little bit sad that you can't put your own enchantments on it. Well I think bethesda should add something called unenchanting, where you can take off the enchantment on a specific piece of armor and put your own enchantments on it. Thoughts, comments, and feedback welcome.

I don't have a problem with unique items being what they are. That's what makes them unique. I do however see no reason why we can't add the second enchantment to an item that has only one. Or increase that enchantment or enchantments.

No. If that armor is unique, like the ancient shrouded armor or spellbreaker, you shouldn't be able to tamper with it. It's unique. It's Bethesda's descretion to put those particular enchantments on it. Plus, it would be really weird taking a unique sword like Chillrend, and putting a non-chilly enchantment on it. In short, meh.

Unique armor/weapons is just that, unique. It's combo of stats and enchantments are part of what makes it unique. If you really want to use a certain piece of gear, build your character for that. I have done this with certain armors before.

With certain items such as thalmor robes or an enchanted piece of iron armor I agree. However unique items (only one version in the game) such as daedric artifacts should not be tampered with.

There is unenchanting in the game. It just happens to destroy the object if the enchantment hasn't been learned.

Joking aside, I agree, but with a condition: we can only unenchant items we've enchanted. I don't like the idea of special weapons having this option. They're rare for a reason.

Nope. Those enchants on unique items is what makes them unique. Remove that, and well they aren't unique anymore.
