Is there in Skyrim the same "R" button as in Oblivio

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 4:19 am

Hi everyone,

Is there in Skyrim the same "R" button as in Oblivion.

This button was allowing us to zoom in and out your character while in action.

I have not find this button yet ; so...am I particulary dum? Or did they just forget about this ability to look at your character in action from whatever angle you like?

You can hold down the F button to move the camera while holding a weapon in third person view.

On xbox you can click and hold the right thumb stick to select the vanity view and use the left thumb stick to zoom in-out

Thanks Pseron Wyrd,

I can read too. My point being the Oblivion "R" button is allowing you to zoom in and out your character WHILE IN ACTION (like running etc...) what you are describing does not do what I am looking for as it only allows you to zoom in and out your character when standing still...

"tvm" used to be to toggle vanity mode in Morrowind (a kind of freeform camera). Don't think it's in Oblivion or Skyrim though.

By "in action" I assumed you meant "combat."

No, the "F" key won't work for running. I'm not sure what will. Hopefully one of the geniuses around here will know.

I'm thinking you are s.o.l. here. You can turn the camera with the 'f' button but zooming in seems to have gone the way of the dodo.

I guess Bethesda, in their wisdom, decided that totally destroying the controls for the PC was a stroke of genius.

They really did not think a second of the PC gamers. And that is anoying.

Thanks guys for your replies...appreciate

Yeah, i miss that too. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197988732882/screenshot/648746999493295721?tab=public "tfc 1" still works, but that doesn't help if you want to move while looking at your character.

If what your asking is if you can see yourself from the front with your weapon drawn, there is no way.

You can only see yourself from another angle when your in a finishing move, it's an annoying lack of feature.

To see yourself from the front with weapons drawn, you have to hold down the f key, while moving the camera with your mouse in the opposite direction of where you want the camera to go. The moment you release the f key, you snap around to behind the player again. Normally you'd use the mouse wheel to zoom, but it doesn't work with weapons out. In actual combat, you're pretty much SOL.

It's a massive pain in the :swear: , and I have no idea what Bethesda was thinking when they changed that function. It was just fine as is in their last three games.

Yes, unfortunately, Bethesda removed the 'Vanity Mode' that they had used in the previous two games, in favour of a 'chase cam', so you no longer have the ability to rotate the camera whilst moving with a weapon or spell drawn. I'm hoping that some clever person will be able to 'mod' the feature back in at some point.

By the way, roosterdad was being sarcastic with his 'player.addability R 1' command.
