Is there some 'thing' missing from your game?

Something struck me as very odd in my game of Skyrim.

Been playing for a few hundred hours now and I've noticed that the ingredient 'Bone Meal' is extremely hard to come by. In fact it is so rare that in my game I only found 5!

Skeletons and draghr don't spawn them, I've had to buy them from shops and they do not appear very often at all.

So I decided to test out a hunch... I created another character and played for a good few days and guess what... this new character was finding a moderate reasonable amount of bone meal spawns.

What is it with this game? Sometimes things are either missing from the world or just extremely rare.

Is there anything missing (or rare) from your game?????????????? Just curious...

Strange most of the time Skeletons and draghr drop them for me. As for me I have to say nothing is missing atm.

Nothing missing but Skjor is apparently the Highlander because he is walking around the companion hall like he never died.
This game is very fun but has a few bugs still to work out, also apparently things start to get funky the more saves you have and the longer you play one character.

Are you playing with mods? It could be the leveled lists are messed up from your mods. If this is the case, use Wrye Bash or other program to make a merged list to make them work right.

However, I have noticed from posts on the boards that some characters just don't seem to find some items. One person will post that they can't find an ingredient or item with a certain enchantment, and others will post that they have no issues finding the same things in they game. So, maybe there is some randomization factor that is randomly applied to the leveled lists.......

I have heard people to say that items with resist magic enchantments are common. I don't know where they are getting that idea. I have played with several characters and 583 hours but still have found only a few items with resist magic enchantment. And Ysgramor's shield is only one I have found under lvl 30. So I would say items with resist magic enchantment are extremely rare.

Im on xbox , so no mods.

im starting to think that the game generates a different world item spawn ratio in every game (not sure if that made sense)

One thing I've noticed from character to character is that with some characters enemies/chests don't respawn. As for specific items, I've never had that problem. And in response to all of the posts regarding enchantments, there are no (or at least very very few) rare effects. It's all about getting lucky with finding them. Stuff like ingredients, on the other hand, spawn in very specific locations (flora, fauna, specific monsters) so there isn't really any randomization. Bonemeal, however, is one of the exceptions, since it only has a chance to spawn on draugr/skeletons (as opposed to, say, troll fat, which you can find on every single troll you kill). @OP: as for the bonemeal, I'd say you just had a run of bad luck with that character.

On my first character I found a few Staves (staffs? staves?) of Paralyze, and now I can't find even one. I had so much fun using that staff on bandits.
