ive just more or less started and already im overloaded with goodies. is there a house or base i can aquire quickly to hoard my stuff in?

The containers in Doc Mitchell's house in Goodsprings, where the game begins, are safe.
Containters in the various houses granted by some factions are also safe.

Odds are there are tons more. Most containers are not rigged to respawn.

A few places. Victor's House, the house that the old guy in Goodsprings sleeps in, the inn at Novac, at least two places on the strip you can get...

Lots of places. Basically, if you find a room with a bed and an unowned container, you're fine.

Any container where NPCs do not wander around.

Doc's House is safe (he doesn't take anything AFAIK)
So is the Abandoned School in Goodspring

plenty of abandoned locations on the map

and any safe house you get. Including the Lucky 38 Presidential Suite, Novac Motel Room, (though not some of the High Roller Suites you get in other casinos).

I've found sneaky pete's house suitable and secure.

cheers guys. i was just worried about storing items in unsecure locations after a couple of bad experiences in fallout 3. i.e. things disappearing.

Unlike FO3, it seems that you can store your stuff just about anywhere and it won't vanish.
