How do i ignite the vent without dying? lol, i keep shooting it.. no good.

How I did it: Get the grenades from the ghoul chicks backpack. Find a room near the vent with a open door. Toss grenade at vent, close door, win.

Take off armor, toss grenade in and run like hell to elevator. Taking off your armor makes you run faster
