Is there Under-Water TreasureLoot?

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 5:49 pm

The sunken ship in the sea of ghosts and underwater areas in at least two dwemer ruins have required me to use water breathing potions. I actually drowned the first time I went to loot that ship.
Thanks. I'll keep looking.

There is absolutely no underwater content save for a few generic chests.
Chests arent interesting because they never have anything unique.
Quite dissapointing.

edit: I did not know this about Blackreach, must load Skyrim and find hidden places.

There's some intresting shiprecks and some Ingredients underwater. What you mean is there's no cool quests or tombs etc sunken underwater and I agree. But I don;t agree that there's no underwater content. I went diving and checked out a few wrecks, even in a lake. What Skyrim should have had was underground caverns like in the game "Rune", which I still think is one kickass game

I play Argonians and constantly dive underwater looking for stuff, and have found quite a bit of it. Most of it's been small change, such as barnacle clusters and low-end chests, but I did find an underwater entrance to a cave underneath one of the civil war Imperial forts. Said cave is also accessed via dropping down a hole in the floor of one of said fort's towers, so it's nothing special.

There are also some lengthy underwater sections in some dungeons, although there's usually nothing in them aside from the occasional chest or plant. And the occasional Slaughterfish, which is annoying since they disabled water combat. Fortunately they don't hit all that hard, so they're more an irritant than an actual threat.

Is this the same one that if you play for the Blues, you have the option of sneaking in through?

yes quite a lot of nice booty (trasure wise!) under the water, its less obvious than OBS treasure, but that makes it better i reckon,

ive already expslored i think 2 wrecks, both were midly interesting and had a bit of a story behind them, but i didnt find any major booty wooty XD.

but (as said before) the slaughterfish svck! you cant do anything about it until such time as a mod re-enables water combat.

still, ive not really done a whole lot of water exsploration, im planning to play an argonian next though, which will be very intersting

i get angus at beth for having currents in every bit of water that's deep enough to swim in,i mean honestly a small pond with enough current to carry you to the otherside.it stands out like a sore thumb.

I remeber coming across one of the rather large waterfalls, and at the bottom of the first water fall but the top of 2nd waterfall there is a skelton with a stone tied around his ankle, he has a sheild, helmet, and boots. usually one of the items is enchanted and it is extremely hard to get because the current is the same strength as you, just remebered that it's at the upper entrance to darkwater pass (I think) and it is an unmarked entrance as opposed to the lower falls entrance which is marked.

There are a lot more things (shipwrecks, lootable corpses, sunken containers) in Skyrim than there was in Oblivion. There's a problem though: Slaughterfish. On the one hand the developers finally added underwater treasure, but on the other hand they took away our ability to defend ourselves while getting it. Nice move, Bethesda.

Agree completely. There's plenty underwater loot if you look around.

And I also agree that it's extremely annoying there's no underwater combat. Really Bethesda.. Why??

No, that's an earlier fort; if you go in by the underwater entrance in this one you come out 20 feet below the tower's floor, and there are no ledges to use to jump your way up. I thought of that as soon as I saw it, but once down you can't get back up.

Just found that for the first time today. He had an ebony shield, but the weapon was mediocre. And you're right about the current, which is fierce.
