The title says it all, I'm half through the Forbidden Legend quest and I need to enter Saarthal, which door is locked. The door will unlock once I get there with Tolfdir and the trainees from the mages guild but my character is not very fond of magic and I don't feel like joining the guild just to be able to enter Saarthal. May I just unlock the door using the "unlock" console command? I fear I'd break some other quests by doing so.

You can't enter there without doing the quest.Some places can only be opend if you start some quest.I will advice you with one thing homever.Before somebody like Mercer from Thieves guild quest ,open those locked doors, safe before...Sometimes the doors just stay locked and the characters freezes.

Like he said. You have to join the Mage's Guild to get into Sarthaal. I understand your character not liking magic. That seems to be the prominent viewpoint of the NPC's in the game as well. Just have your character justify it as he is using the Guild only as a means to an end.

Ok, thanks. Anyway I just found out that entering Saarthal by unlocking the door is useless, there's another gate in the deeps of the barrow which is supposed to unlock once you get to it with Tolfdir and there's no way to get past it other than noclipping through it. Since it feels like cheating I'll join the Guild and roleplay that is just a means to enter the barrow.
