Is there a way to reduce the size of the screen?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 5:47 pm

Hello! I was wondering if there was a way to reduce the size of my screen in-game. The dialog in the top-left corner of my screen is always cut-off. Someone told me to reduce the size to 16:9 in the TV menu, but I can't. Is there any other way I could?

Thank you in advance.

What type of monitor are you using? 4:3? Do you use a wide screen monitor? 16:9?

If your using a wide screen monitor set it to 16:9. Now some times it's best with TV's to set the game to the native resolution. For example I'm using a tv for my pc and my native resolution is 1360x768.

Are you on the pc or console?

I'm playing on the Xbox 360. I'm not sure what kind of TV moniter I'm using, though. I don't think it's widescreen, though.

I'm assuming you have a regular 4:3 screen then.

Do you have this problem when your just playing your game OR all the time such as watching tv?

The only thing two things I can think of is:
  • The menu on your tv.
  • Setting the xbox 360 settings to the 4:3 screen.

You should be able to stretch the screen via buttons on the tv. You can make it wider or shorter or taller etc. Or it might be in your tv menu area. See if that helps.

Now if that didn't work I think you can change the xbox 360 screen size to 4:3.

I tried adjusting the screen with the TV menu, and that didn't work. There wasn't any option to widen or shorten the screen. Also, I only have this problem when playing Skyrim. Not any other game, though. I'll check out the link you provided next time I get on, though, and see if it works.

there is a way to set your TV to widescreen through your xbox which should let you see the corners of the game.

go to your xbox main menu / settings tab / select system / console settings / display / screen format / wide screen

hope this helps
