Previuos thread
http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1396310-they-really-need-to-nerf-enchanting-and-alchemy/page__fromsearch__1

I have been reading through the comments, and it seems that most people agree that the way enchanting/aclhemy works should be changed so, Please lets hear some more idea of how to make it better. I hust dont like how bethseda makes enchanting/alchemy so easy to break the game.

My prev. Post

There should be caps on how much something can be fortified. like smithing cap at 50%, same for alchemy and enchanting,
So lets say i have 3 pieces of armor, all of them fortify smithing by 25% each. it would be capped at 50. same goes for alchemy and for potions of fortify enchanting.
Also clothing should be able to hold stronger enchantments. such as an enchantment can be stonger than normal if it is put on clothing or circlets ( something with a 0 armor rating)

I guess nerf isnt the right word but change how it works so its a little more difficult for people to break there game.
( I know you will be like, o its single player bla bla, but if you want to cheat or be op then use console commands or something.
Except i dont think ps3players have acces to the console

I am starting to notice that enchanting levels way too easily. I use an enchanted bow all the time, and recharging it often gives me a level up in enchanting. It could use some slower leveling. I have not noticed any odd leveling for alchemy, though. It only goes up fast if you make potions with expensive ingredients.

Still disagree, I like how they both work and I think as long as you don't purposely abuse them they aren't particularly powerful. I have a character that uses all three crafting skills, but sparingly instead of spammed to quick max level and he still gets knocked around a lot.

Its already difficult enough.
You can create weapons and armour as weak or powerful as you desire.
Aside from that, the crafting skills are hardcapped, a cap which is only circumventable through a glitch.

This glitch will likely not be patched, as it is customary for Bethesda to leave these sort of things in if people enjoy them and they do not literally break the game.
This glitch does not do these things and it is not something that you can do by accident.

It also is patently untrue, as some posters previously suggested that at 'level 20 you one-shot everything on master'.
Talk about overexaggerating, literally the only way to achieve that is through bug abuse.
Otherwise youre running from snowy sabrecats on normal difficult at level 20.

So what exactly is the problem with these skills?

I dont agree with your assessment that the majority thinks something should be changed.

As for slower levelling, yes, I would like that.
I feel that in general levelling in Skyrim is too fast, I would enjoy being a lower level for longer. It would make the achievement of high level more rewarding.

I don't even abuse the recharge on purpose. It's just natural leveling in this case. I just find it's odd that even using a common soul gem to recharge two times can give a level up in enchanting. That's an exaggeration, but it pretty much is what seems to happen for me. It's not annoying, just kind of strange.

Not using anything to fortify the skill.

Want i want though is the abiilty to have stronger enchantments on clothing, and to patch the fortify restoration glitch.

Enchanting, alchemy, and smithing only break the game if you choose for them to break the game. Remember there are some players who want to be a god, and Bethesda can't ignore them.

I wouldn't mind that. Would give me a reason to play a pure mage with no armor.

I don't get this thread. If you don't like they make you OP, surely avoiding the steps to make such powerful enchantments and potions should be avoided?
