Thieves' Guild - Conversation Between Characters

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 12:35 pm

Apologies if this has been brought up already or belongs in Software Issues... I went hunting through the forums for a while, but I couldn't find anyone with a similar issue.

Except for my first arrival at The Ragged Flagon, when Brynjolf tries to convince the other Guild members that I’m worth their time, I have never heard any other ambient conversations between folks at the Flagon. I’ve read on a number of websites that they can occur – for example,
Spoiler
Tonilia’s rumored affair with Brynjolf
– but they never take place in my game. I’ve played through the Thieves’ Guild questline twice, and both times, I ran into this issue.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I seem to have the opposite problem, they won't stop bantering with each other long enough for me to get a word in edgewise. That's an odd thing you're experiencing. There are also conversations in the cistern. If fact, now that Sapphire is there, Rune (I think) often hits on her.

The guys in my game are rather talkative, but I've not heard of the aforementioned affair above. There's an interesting little conversation between Delvin and Vex, something about the wrong kind of 'fur' (I'll leave you guessing here).

I have heard a conversation between Dirge and Tonilia about the affair, with Dirge talking about how Vekel is a good man and doesn't deserve what Tonilia is doing to him and Tonilia telling Dirge to mind his own business. Apparently there's another conversation where Tonilia and Vekel disagree about where they want the relationship to go. He wants to commit further, she's happy with the way things are. I haven't heard that yet.

See, I don't get any of it. None of the Thieves' Guild NPCs will talk to anyone but me. It makes The Flagon too quiet and even more depressing than it's supposed to be.
