thieves guild glitches...

so i recently joined the thieves guild and when i was "supposed" to start the Dampened Spirits quest the quest didn't appear as a quest, and when i talk to maven Black Briar i only have to options to talk about (one about the thieves guild and another about her control in Riften. i don't remember their exact wording but nothing happens after speaking to her.i play TESV on X Box and i am not willing to get any mods for my X Box. i have no idea what to do in this situation and really need help! (PS: i am new to this forum so forgive me if this is in the wrong topic.) Please help me soon, i really want the skeleton key!

when in doubt reload the previous save, when playing Skyrim learn to save often and do not overwrite the prievious save create a new one.

Thats how I played from day one.

i would but you don't understand that i would lose all my daedric artifacts i wouldn't have already taken solitude as a stormcloak and i wouldn't have completed the campaign and would be bumped all the way to level 20 (my current level is 40) ...i did Many things after this and can't load my past save. i have no idea what to do, and fear there is nothing to do . now excuse me as i bang my head against the wall...

Um. Hon.... you just learned THE object lesson of TES games. NEVER gain 20 levels without a save. In fact, NEVER gain a FULL level without about a dozen saves! Wow, I'm very sorry for you, but damn.... Oh. Try not to break your head OR the wall, okay?

Actually if he is stating that this is a glitch shouldn't it belong ib the issues section?

20 lvls with out a save file, all I can say is either hope it gets fixed with a up comming patch or enjoy the thieves guild quest line when you start a new chracter.

yeah, maybe next time i'll be an argonian instead of nord.

WAIT! my lock picking is 100 and i got unbreakable locks perk! i don't need the skeleton key any more!
