Hey all,

I've just completed the "Loud and Clear" mission, and how I can't get onto the next mission...

After it tells me my mission was complete, it never updates my journal with the new mission

Can anybody suggest a work around for this

You've burned the hives, stolen what you need from the safe and gone back to Brynjolf?

what is the last thing you did? like what completed it?

Goddamnit. It took me two hours to get the hives burned without being spotted by the mercs.

I've burned the hives, got the papers from the save...returned them to Brynjolf...

But he tells me to meet Meaven, but my journal never updates and i'm unable to talk to Brynjolf again, he just tells me his busy

I have done everything i'm supposed to do according to the http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Loud_and_Clear walkthrough

Have you tried talking to Maven anyway?

I can't find maven, after i get completed "loud and clear" message, there is no update for the next mission has started...she isn't in the bee and bag place where she is supposed to be either

Just found meaven, and spoke to her, nothing about her wanting to see me...

only 2 dialogue options Argh

Does anyone have any idea's of how i may be able to initiate the quest after "loud and clear"...via a consul command maybe

I have this exact problem as well. I can continue doing the extra work missions for the Thieves Guild, but the main questline appears to be broken for me after completing Loud and Clear. There is no log entry to speak to Maven now, and she only has the normal dialogue options when I find her at her home.

How did you handle the horse stealing quest (Promises to Keep) and interaction with Maven? I wound up talking to her about it and telling her who hired me to steal her horse. I was able to complete that quest just fine, but I'm wondering if that may have broken something in this main questline that caused Dampened Spirits to not begin correctly. I also wound up killing all of the Black Briar mercs up at the lodge, so that might have had something to do with it. Those are the only things I can think of at the moment.

I luckily didn't encounter this bug but I read on one website that it occurs if you interrupt dialogue with Brynjolf too fast.They said you must wait for him to finish the conversation.

Did they happen to say if there is a way to fix it if it happens besides reloading? I didn't realize it was broken and went off and did other things. I'll have to give up 15 or so levels if I reload.

I'm having the same issue as well. I recall being paid, i think, but have no follow up quest.

If it means anything, I've done the rebellion quests on the side of the empire. After some reliable google searching, I find out she comes to replace the Jarl that was previously there. Does this perhaps super-cede her position in the thieves guild making the quest null? :/

Forgot to add that upon talking to here, there are no dialogue options.

I just stole the horse and gave it to yourman...the mission giver.

Never spoke to meaven about that quest



I've went back over the conversation a lot of times and let the conversation run its natural course and its natural pace



Yeah i know mate, apparently there is some bug if you've broken into one meadry's before you'r giving the mission it causes this bug...bit of a joke because as a natural thief i like to break into places...

Also the console code doesn't work, just get a spam feedback reading as follows:
"getinfaction >>>>>0.00"
or something very much like that

I can't get the quest "Dampened Spirits" to start either. I'll just continue on and hold onto the "Loud and Clear" turn in and hope it's fixed in the patch. If not... I guess it's no Thieves Guild for me. Super!!

Having the same issue. Posted about this earlier. I completed "Loud and Clear" and there is no new quest in my log, or anyone that I can talk to... Highly irritating, this is unacceptable and I was looking forward to playing through the Thieves Guild.. This needs to be brought to Bethesda attention and fixed ASAP

Is there any way to report this issue as bug directly to the Bethesda staff?

I have gone to the Bethesa website and contacted Tech Support... You should do the same.. hopefully they listen

Did you look in your Miscellaneous quests? If I recall correctly, that's where I had the quest to go find Maven. I could be remembering it incorrectly though.

Same problem here...

There is no quest in the main- or Miscellaneous log.

So far I have tried starting the quest through console commands(setstage TG03 0), it did not work.(though this method worked with any other quest so far)
Also, I have jumped to the last phase of the previous quest "loud and clear" (setstage TG02 50) and talked to Brinjolf again: He told me to go see Maven, but again, "Dampened spirits" did not activate, no matter which of the dialogue options I chose.

I really hope this gets fixed/modded soon....
