Things that could make FNV more enjoyable (for consoles)

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 4:07 pm

A few things I think would make FNV enjoyable for all platforms: #1. You should allow people to use the console via the pause menu. #2. Let us download mods for the PS3 version, Unreal Tournament 3 did, and it worked out perfectly. You would just plug in a flash drive and download the mod to it, then you would start the game and go into the community tab, then you would select "Mods" and press a button to scan your USB flash drive, and you're done. Something like that would add to the fun. (Bethesda if you are reading this please consider it)

I don't understand why there is no access to the console for console players. It doesn't have the distribution problems of mods and would be an invaluable tool for dealing with glitches.

You clearly don't understand the agreement microsoft has with ati and xeon. The console commands come dangerously close to low level commands capable of triggering mods to run third party software. If you can get a cheap 3 core system with 9500gt equivalent graphics for $100 or less to run pc games, there would be less people buying equivalent hardware. Which means less money in their pockets. The whole point to securing the xbox 360 is so that people can't exploit what was once an alright gaming pc for a steal price. However, there are ways to adding console commands to the console version of the game. But that requires modifying the disc drive, the xbox 360 game, and burning the game with said results.

Too bad Microsoft felt this way. If they really put their minds together, they could be selling similar motherboards for pc gaming at a cheap price and making a profit.

What about Sony? I'm assuming it's the same for them. Is it?

My thread isn't about DLC

Seems to be for the same reason.
In the DLC thread people suggest what they would like to see added to the game to make it more enjoyable.

But whatever, what would make the game more enjoyable for me is if they added leveled random encounter zones.
I like that the game has fixed spawns but it makes the game so incredibly predictable.
With leveled random encounter zones we could go out into the wasteland and actually find a challenge.
This does not mean I want FO3's "enemy every 30 meters" but yknow, just to find stuff worth facing once I'm at lvl 30.

It won't happen.

The mods for Unreal Tournament were basically map mods, right? The mods for these games goes way beyond that. I don't think Sony or Microsoft would ever allow unrestricted modding for their console. Neither would they be willing to do the policing to make sure everything is compatible and the content is appropriate.

The only way stuff will be added to the game for console players is through official dlc. Before someone suggests breaking the eula and modding their console, its locked.
